This set of FGO Altria look shot in a pure white church scene fulfills the beautiful imagination of "The Paladin at the World's End" in my heart. The environment on the shoot day was actually very simple, without particularly complex backdrops, relying mainly on a large amount of white drapery and arched doors and windows to construct a sense of sacredness. But the moment the light hit, both the cosplayer and the photographer felt the atmosphere was turned up to the max.
Let's talk about this cosplay costume; the use of blue and gold lines on a white background is highly meticulous. The high-collar design at the neck combined with the off-the-shoulder puff sleeves balances the knight's majesty with the wedding's holiness. I personally love the pairing of the veil and the green leaf crown; the natural vitality brought by the wreath adds a touch of softness unique to a royal princess to this sacred gown. To perfectly restore the metal buckles and strap details at the waist, the tailor hand-sewed them for a long time, and the final fit on the body is very comfortable without restricting the joints, which is especially important for my posing.
Now about the greatsword prop, this weapon fits perfectly with the holy setting in the original work. Holding the actual item in hand gives a realistic weight, especially when semi-squatting to stand it upright beside me; the center of gravity is stable, matching a knight's posture perfectly. Although my arms were a bit sore after the shoot, holding it truly brings an instant sense of mission to protect the royal city. During the shoot, the photographer had me try different poses. In Figure 1, pointing the long rod prop toward the camera carries a calm sense of scrutiny; while in Figure 2, kneeling on one knee, holding the greatsword, and looking down naturally precisely echoes the story-rich state of the "surviving princess." This indifferent yet firm expression is exactly what I wanted to convey to the audience through the lens for this Paladin look.
Actually, before preparing for this shoot, I reviewed the FGO-related storylines again. The character Altria carries the destiny of a king all year round; she not only has the Red Dragon bloodline of Britain, but also possesses many struggles and gentleness belonging to ordinary people. Her fortitude in never backing down when facing difficulties, as well as her calmness after finally taking off her armor, are parts worth pondering repeatedly. Standing among the veils in this costume, I seem to be able to slightly understand her state of mind as a royal princess.
The most interesting part of the shoot lay in the veil and streamers. Although there was no strong wind, walking just a little bit allowed the lightweight material to bring out a naturally flowing trajectory, making me feel the entire look was fluid rather than a rigid flat plane. Although I was a bit exhausted after shooting for several hours, seeing the pure luster in the final photos made me feel that all the efforts were completely worth it. As a Cosplay sharing of my favorite character, I am exceptionally satisfied with both the costume texture and the shooting atmosphere this time.
