[Altria cosplay] The King of Knights Strolling Through the Forest: Recreating the Serenity of Avalon

The moment I put on this mint green vintage long dress and stepped into the woods, I tried my best to immerse myself in an atmosphere that resonated with the character. After completing all three routes of the game, the feelings regarding the distant Avalon have always stayed in my heart. Choosing to shoot in this outdoor forest was my way of concretizing that sense of serenity far removed from the mortal world. The design of this dress in the photos is exceptionally exquisite, and it's a style I personally adore.

Let's talk about the costume details first. The overall color of this long dress is a light mint green, which is not jarring in the lush green forest but rather blends in perfectly. The collar and chest feature rows of fine pleats, which, paired with the tiered ruffles at the hem, give the dress a strong sense of layering and elegant drape. There are adjustable ribbon bows at the shoulders and wrists, adding a cute, youthful touch without looking overly complicated. The puff sleeves and loose cuffs allow the dress to present superb airy lightness when in motion, making it especially perfect for capturing candid, dynamic moments.

For the shooting location, we chose a relatively natural pine forest. The ground was covered with dense vegetation and dotted with tiny blue flowers, looking incredibly vibrant against the green grass. To complement the soft tones of the dress, the photographer's lighting relied as much as possible on diffused natural light. The dappled sunlight filtering through the gaps in the leaves wrapped me in a soft, glowing halo. This integration of the environment and the costume greatly helped shape the atmosphere of the final photos.

I tried two main states during the shoot. The first is a sitting pose, gently holding a lock of hair by my ear with my fingers, relaxing my facial expressions as much as possible, and looking directly into the lens to deliberately create a quiet, contemplative gentleness. The second is looking back after standing up. This is probably the most satisfying snapshot of the entire shoot; as I turned naturally with my steps, the wide hem of the skirt swept up, showcasing the flowing drape and layers of the dress. Compositionally, the second photo has more dynamism, capturing the grass and tiny flowers at my feet, making the interaction between the subject and the environment much more vivid. My hair was styled in clean, straight bangs, with a small lock of hair left standing at the crown—this detail is crucial for the styling, and I specifically confirmed its position with the stylist to stay as true to the original setting as possible.

Having cleared the hidden route of the game before, that overwhelming wave of mixed emotions is still vividly etched in my memory. Although there is a huge gap between the game's art style and real-life fashion, the character's yearning for peace after weathering countless storms found another layer of expression through this refreshing dress in the forest. Without overly complex or flashy props, and without forced poses, simply letting myself stand or sit quietly in this tranquil environment made it much easier to enter the character's mindset.

The chemistry with the photographer was also seamless. During framing, we avoided areas with heavy artificial traces as much as possible, allowing the frame to present a relatively pure sense of nature. The moment the shutter clicked, there was no need to force any specific pose; I just let the skirt and hair float naturally with the wind. Once this set of photos came out, what I loved most was the perfect arc of the swirling skirt and the subtle sheen reflecting off the fabric as the forest light filtered through.

For outdoor shoots, especially when wearing a dress with such a voluminous skirt, you need to have a mental blueprint of your positioning and standing posture beforehand; otherwise, it can easily look bloated or structurally off-balance in photos. This time, we spent a lot of time looking for a level ground dotted with blue flowers, and the final results proved that the early location scouting was well worth it. Being able to record such moments of a beloved character, in a style I deeply identify with and in the perfect setting, is incredibly fulfilling in its own right. I hope these photos convey this peaceful, slightly narrative atmosphere.
