[Cartethyia Cosplay] Ethereal Moments at the World Line Anime Convention

I prepared extensively for this Cartethyia cosplay showcased at the World Line Anime Convention. The true centerpiece of this costume is the pair of long gradient sleeves; the gradient print transitioning from white to deep navy blue demanded meticulous care, requiring continuous attention while moving around the venue to prevent them from dragging and getting dirty. The prop was that long-handled weapon—its feather embellishments and black horn-like accents carried fantastic texture, though raising it against the outdoor wind to pose for the lens certainly required some arm strength. During the shoot, we deliberately leaned into Fujifilm's camera texture; side backlighting grazing the strands of hair allowed a soft golden halo to glow along the edges, while the facial makeup highlighted the silver forehead accessory and blue-grey contact lenses, striving to channel that other-worldly elven quality. The convention was packed with heavy foot traffic, making it quite a feat to secure a clean backdrop for full-body shots. The stance in Photo 3 was specifically framed to show off the fluid lines of the entire outfit, while the other two captures focused on direct frontal interactive expressions. The garment features a high-neck collar paired with a black vest on the back, and the tassels and metallic pendants along the skirt hem swayed gently in motion, offering wonderful dynamic flair. To capture that ethereal yet slightly distant aura, I also wore elf ear prosthetics. This look features numerous layers—from the black neck choker to the white vine patterns across the chest, down to the exposed shorts at the thighs—requiring constant adjustments to balance proportions. Because of the strong breeze during the outdoor shoot, the wig repeatedly blew into my eyes, but thankfully the photographer was quick to give reminders. The clear shoe straps pinched my feet a bit, leaving my ankles slightly sore by the end, yet that physical investment is an intrinsic part of role-playing. A major joy of attending conventions is connecting with fellow enthusiasts; I met so many people who recognized the character, enthusiastically discussing costume nuances and weapon lore. Being able to fully immerse myself in the fun of cosplay and project that character's blend of elegance and cool poise is truly the most rewarding part.
