This day at the Chengdu World Line Anime Exhibition, we rarely encountered perfect weather, and that gorgeous beautiful sunset at dusk coated the entire lawn in a gentle golden hue. This shoot used a Sony a7m4 paired with a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 G2 lens, and in the sunset backlit environment, this lens's sharpness and color restoration gave me plenty of room to perform. To make the main character pop from the twilight, I chose to use a small fill-light for front lighting while shifting the camera's white balance slightly toward warmer tones, which both preserved the natural hues of the sunset and gave the pink tulle and white lace on the costume a translucent, glowing texture.

Regarding the wearability of this costume, it actually heavily tested my movement. The wide transparent gauze sleeves and draping 3D flower decorations could easily get tangled up in the windy outdoor environment, so I intentionally slowed down my movements to let the sleeves naturally drift with the wind. The folding fan served as an important prop; during the shoot, I mainly used it to block parts of my face or extend body lines, adding layers to the frame. In terms of composition, I experimented with multiple camera positions: a low-angle shot could elongate the body silhouette with the help of the gradient sky colors, while an eye-level shot could better display makeup details and eye contact. Upon exporting, I noticed that when the light filtered just right through the gaps in the clouds, striking the hair strands and earrings, the rim light was exceptionally beautiful, which is why I chose to complete this set within the half-hour before sunset.

The foot traffic at the convention venue was actually quite heavy, but fortunately, this spot at the edge of the lawn was relatively open with few distracting elements. I scouted the location in advance, choosing an angle backed by distant mountains and facing west, so the clouds behind could form a natural background canvas. During the actual shooting process, I constantly adjusted the angles of my wrists and shoulders because the tulle material is very lightweight. If the movements were too rigid, the flow of the sleeves would look stiff, while a slight rotation or lifting motion instead allowed the skirt hem and sleeves to generate graceful curves. This set of convention photos did not deliberately pursue complex post-processing, only doing some basic color balance and skin tone brightening, because the on-site light and shadow were already atmospheric enough to capture the essence of Anime-style photography. The sunset transitioned from orange to pinkish-purple, which aligned unexpectedly well with the color scheme of this outfit. After all, when taking photos, sometimes the most natural state is the best filter.
