The pure white bunny ears styling for Alice from Goddess of Victory: Nikke was intended from the early stages of preparation to be shot with a clean and translucent feel like clouds. The entire set utilizes flawless pure white as the main tone, with light pink accents added only in localized areas, forming a highly soft visual effect. I was previously worried whether white would look flat, but when I actually received the costume and checked the materials, I found that the multi-layered patchwork and rich decorations completely made up for this issue.
Let's first talk about the head decorations. The bunny ears were specially selected to be made of highly soft and fluffy plush material, which is not only full in shape but also doesn't sag from the front. Accompanying the headpiece is a white lace-trimmed headband; the layers of ruffles visually elongate the top of the head, forming a very cute symmetrical look with the light pink braided twin-tails hanging down on both sides. The pink wig itself has excellent luster, and once braided, it carries a nice weight, with the ends neatly tied up to prevent a frizzy look.
The upper body attire primarily utilizes a halter-neck structure, with a layer of fine mesh lining around the neck area and a small bowtie brooch hanging right in the center. The benefit of this halter-neck is completely liberating the shoulder lines. The detached sleeves on both sides of the arms are a common configuration for this kind of sweet-style cosplay costume, featuring multiple layers of fine white lace stacked at the cuffs. An extra thin ribbon is attached to the arms to tie around the upper arms, contouring the slenderness of the arms while preventing the sleeves from sliding down. A white fabric flower decoration sewn on the chest echoes the bowtie at the waist, adding rich texture to the solid-colored clothing.
The skirt hem of the lower body is the cute focal point of the overall styling. The skirt cover consists of two layers of tulle and a bottom lining structure, with the puffiness well-controlled so it doesn't look bloated and can fully spread into an umbrella shape when kneeling. The lace along the skirt hem is dense and crisp, sketching a highly complete circular silhouette. Next is the visual focus of the legs: classic white wide-brimmed thigh-high stockings combined with a garter belt structure, which not only adds to the layers of the clothing itself but also visually elongates the proportions of the lower body significantly. The high-waisted short skirt's cutoff point lands right above the garter loops at the root of the thighs. This negative space has a massive modification effect on the styling, making it look much more youthful than a conventional long dress.
For this shoot, I didn't build an overly complex set, but instead utilized the light at home and a pure white living environment. If the horizontal blinds in the background let in a bit of side light, they leave clear bars of light and shadow on the white wall, increasing the structural sense of the image. Together with the white plush floor mat on the ground and the pure white storage cabinets, they form a clean and flawless background environment, perfectly suited for this kind of white-themed photo set. The shoot took advantage of natural high-key exposure to blend the edges of the clothes and the environment, presenting a soft-focus dreamlike texture.
In terms of movement selection, the first standing pose with a peace sign is meant to express a relaxed, playful everyday state. When the gaze is covered by the camera, the pink hair and bunny ears on the upper part of the frame become the absolute visual focus. The second pose switches to kneeling on both knees, which is exceptionally suitable for this kind of short skirt with a fluffy hem; it not only allows the skirt hem to spread naturally on the white carpet like a flower but also clearly displays the details of the garter loops and straps on the legs. Moreover, when tidying up the skirt hem, there's no need to worry about the clothing shifting out of place, because the chest bowtie and halter-neck area are adequately secured.
The coordination of the makeup is also vital. The overall makeup this time is relatively light, focusing primarily on brightening the skin tone and adding a healthy glow. Because a large area of pure white has a high reflection rate, heavy makeup would instead conflict with the overall lightweight feel. Combining a white-themed makeup with light pink hair fits seamlessly with the character's definition in this 2D world.
The overall shooting pace was highly relaxed, without needing to forcefully strike hardcore combat postures. Sitting quietly on the carpet or standing to strike a gesture beautifully replicates this pure and cute style. Looking at the returned images after shooting, I indeed felt that the pure white color scheme carries a highly premium visual texture, making this a set of cosplay works with satisfying light perception.
