The Anime convention photos from the 2026 Chinese Anime Independent Tour are finally retouched. Instead of choosing an intricate, heavy gown, I opted for a relatively everyday yet surprisingly photogenic casual outfit. A white graphic tank top paired with light-wash denim shorts, styled with long black gloves and black patent-leather platform High-heeled long boots. Wearing this ensemble at the convention was an exceptionally wise decision: the halls were packed and hot, so the breathable shorts and tank top kept walking and queuing effortless. In front of the camera, however, the expressive impact relied heavily on accessories. The black gloves provided a striking visual extension that tightened the silhouette of my arms. Because the tank top is form-fitting and shows every movement, keeping my core engaged and my back straight was essential during shooting. The white circular plinth served as an ideal ready-made prop; while seated, pushing the knees forward toward the lens and planting my heels firmly maximized the elongated leg lines. The platform boots gave my height a significant boost, and their patent-leather finish caught the studio flash with a sleek, lustrous texture.

Working with photographer 东云 was seamless. The venue's overhead lighting was notoriously unflattering, easily casting harsh facial shadows. We specifically scouted an area beside expansive glass windows, utilizing natural light as our base and bouncing fill with a reflector. To dodge background crowds, we tilted the camera slightly downward and used a telephoto lens to melt the background into soft bokeh, anchoring the white cylindrical plinth as the visual center. Wearing shorts on such an elevated round platform carried a risk of wardrobe slips, so I continuously adjusted my seated poses, using arm and leg placement to maintain a safe yet dynamic composition. Embodying this seemingly simple casual aesthetic actually demands more genuine relaxation than wearing ornate cosplay garb. There was no need for exaggerated, theatrical poses—an effortless, natural demeanor with a touch of cool confidence was just right. Direct interactions with the lens, paired with a slightly aloof gaze, resonated seamlessly with this monochrome color-blocked styling.

The convention floor was filled with countless incredible cosplays that day; everyone helped watch bags and adjust garments for one another, creating an atmosphere that can only be truly felt in person. During post-processing, I subtly preserved the venue's cool color cast to keep skin textures luminous and translucent. A full day of shooting was exhausting, but seeing the chiaroscuro and clean lines turn out exactly as envisioned made every bit of effort worthwhile.
