[Klee Cosplay & Alice cosplay] Genshin Impact mother-daughter duo photoshoot record

Today, Yingtao and I wrapped up our photoshoot portraying Klee and Alice from Genshin Impact. The details across these outfits are immense—especially Alice's headdress. To capture that floating illusion interweaving metallic elements with translucent textures, we experimented with several materials before settling on acrylic combined with fine wire armature. Putting it on required extreme care to avoid snagging strands of hair. Klee's costume is comparatively lighter, yet the white ruffles, red bows, and waist accessories still needed meticulous individual positioning to ensure full three-dimensional depth on camera. As for the wigs, the pale golden base subtly blending into pink gradient tips offered rich dimensional layers under studio lighting, though they required frequent combing to prevent tangling.

Regarding makeup, to faithfully recreate the texture of the elf ears, we molded and fitted prosthetics in advance. Alice's makeup centered around gold colored contacts and orange-red eyeshadow blending, sculpting an eye shape that felt mature yet tinged with fairytale magic. Klee's makeup leaned into youthful innocence, featuring generous blush swept across the cheeks, red bow accents placed at the outer corners of the eyes, and a crisp short cut that brimmed with energy. The green gemstone on the chest necklace and the high-gloss red long gloves on the arms yielded brilliant specular reflections under studio strobes, adding an extra layer of challenge when selecting camera angles.

The shooting location was an indoor set with a textured brick wall, echoing the tactile architecture often seen in Genshin Impact's fantasy environments. We explored numerous interactive poses today. In one frame, I lay on my side across the rug while Yingtao sat, letting my head rest naturally against her lap. While this pose looks effortless, it put considerable strain on the neck and waist; keeping graceful shoulder and neck lines while balancing the two-person composition required four or five repositioning attempts before capturing the most natural frame. Furthermore, because the sleeves and skirt hems were voluminous, lying down meant carefully smoothing out every edge by hand to keep the composition clean, ensuring the sharp contrast between the black gloves and white skirt remained the visual anchor.

In truth, the mother-daughter bond between Alice and Klee in Genshin Impact is deeply endearing—Alice's whimsical, imaginative nature creates such a delightful contrast with Klee's innocent purity. Throughout the shoot, Yingtao and I continuously brainstormed how to convey this emotional warmth through subtle body language, such as the seated partner resting a gentle hand on the other's head or lightly touching a shoulder with a tender gaze. This method of expressing connection without exaggerated expressions demanded physical stamina, but the resulting authenticity was palpable. Due to the heavy headdress, we took several breathers mid-session to reset. Yet looking at the final images—from the rich fabric textures and dynamic color collisions to our natural partner synergy—everything fulfilled our creative vision, making this half-day of hard work entirely worthwhile.
