[Amiya cosplay] Arknights Summer Swimsuit Outdoor Photography Log

The concept for this recent outdoor shoot was a breezy, refreshing summer style by a stream, blessed with abundant natural sunlight. To capture a translucent skin texture, I spent most of the time adjusting my position to make the best use of backlighting and rim lighting.
The animal ears and red flowers on the straw hat required meticulous hot-glue fixing and carried noticeable weight; whenever outdoor gusts picked up, I had to shield them with my hands to keep the silhouette intact. The pink-and-white checkered cropped top was wonderfully breathable, though it required continuous pose adjustments during shooting to prevent wardrobe slips. Denim shorts paired with the blue leg strap visually flattered my leg lines while amping up the summer coolness. I specifically deepened the blue tone of my contact lenses to match the character's eye color, and applied heavier blush with an emphasis on a reddish flush at the outer eye corners as the focal point of the makeup.
The most important nuance during the shoot was coordinating the folding fan with the straw hat. I tried raising the fan high to block the sun or resting it beside my cheek, using varied facial expressions to enhance the character's vivid liveliness. My partner used a wide aperture to blur the lush greenery and stream in the background, making the subject stand out sharply. In post-processing, skin texture was deliberately preserved without exaggerated smoothing, focusing primarily on the softness of the light.
My arms were somewhat sore once the Swimsuit outdoor photography wrapped up, but seeing the final images made it completely worthwhile. Although this swimsuit appears like everyday summer attire, combining the animal ears and blue straps brought its fidelity to a great level. Nuances also extended to the blue ribbons tied at the back; because I chose a one-piece base design, putting it on and taking it off took some effort. Movement designs stayed faithful to the character's personality, especially the synergy between the fan and my gaze.
The entire shoot took over half a day, including location scouting and makeup. The yield of successful shots was high, especially the second photo looking straight into the lens—the eyes held a narrative depth, and the centered composition nicely showcased the entire outfit. Before shooting, I studied the character's costume details thoroughly, striving to find the best expressive flow despite the scorching summer heat. The surroundings were quiet and tranquil, with occasional birdsong.
Because the leg ring and shorts left plenty of exposed skin, sun protection and mosquito prevention were constant concerns. Regarding fabric wrinkles, I preferred letting them fall naturally; the breathable fabric allowed for easy movements like raising hands to adjust the hat, lending a more energetic look. Within this styling, the expansive pink checks needed to separate cleanly from the natural ambient greens and blues, so I slightly desaturated the greenery during post-grading to accentuate the subject.
To maintain appealing body lines, I did plenty of stretching beforehand, keeping the abdominal lines in a naturally relaxed state for added authenticity. The colorful patterns along the fan's edge harmonized well with the garment stripes. Special mention goes to wig styling: a generous amount of hairspray was applied to achieve a naturally parted fringe. Despite the busy process, I am thoroughly satisfied with the fidelity of this summer look.
