When the model is also an illustrator, the shoot naturally sparks unexpected moments of fun. While shooting this Sailor suit cosplay by the sea today, I casually doodled an anime avatar in the sand during a break. Though the lines were a bit rough, the sketch felt vibrant against the coastal breeze and sandy beach, so the photographer captured the entire scene on camera. Seaside environments are notoriously demanding: while natural light is plentiful, the relentless wind blew my blue wig and sheer cover-up into a bit of a frenzy. The outfit features a unique design—an airy, translucent sheer sailor top layered over a yellow-and-white swimsuit, paired with over-the-knee White stockings accented by blue stripes. In natural sunlight, this semi-sheer fabric exudes an ethereal, misty quality, casting delicate light layers across the skin. However, this gossamer material snags easily, requiring cautious movement across gritty sand. To ensure flawless results, I prepped with reliable safety undergarments to prevent issues from gusty winds and bright glare.
Crouching on the sand to draw looks simple, but holding the pose was a genuine test of core endurance. To achieve an organic angle, I had to tuck my posture tightly while extending my arm lines gracefully, balancing body curves with relaxed facial composure. Sand gets everywhere—within minutes, my knees and shins were coated in grit, and coarse grains worked into my shoes and stocking hems, requiring thorough brushing every time I stood up.
