Shooting this set of Azur Lane Hanazuki cosplay for the early spring season happened to align right with The Lantern Festival. Releasing these photos during this traditional festival feels uniquely ceremonial. The long pink hair, black-and-white fox ears, and the plush pink-and-white tail behind me combine to create a cute, festive vibe that perfectly fits the early spring atmosphere.

The costume features remarkably rich styling details. The upper body's white lace hollow base top is paired with a red-and-gold floral chest ornament, creating a wonderful translucent quality under the light when combined with the neckline design. My favorite piece is the pair of long red satin gloves on my arms, stitched at the wrists with multi-tiered white transparent tulle ruffles. This red-and-white contrast preserves traditional elegance while adding that fluffy sweetness unique to anime aesthetics. The white round fan held in my hand served as one of the key props for this photoshoot; clustered with 3D crafted pink blossoms and dangling red tassels with jade beads from its handle, it felt lightweight in hand and added rich texture to the overall composition.

For this shoot, I specifically experimented with several compositions involving seated and side-reclining poses. I am very pleased with this cover shot—it not only highlights my overall proportions at the visual center, but also perfectly showcases the details of the white tights and the delicate golden chain floral thigh accessory. This kind of accessory is easy to overlook in daily shooting, but under the lens, its metallic sheen beautifully enhances the leg contours. Paired with flowing pink hair and soft natural light, it presents a clear, lively character state.

The actual shooting location was an indoor venue featuring traditional wooden elements, decorated with pink floral branches and tulle. To make the scene even more dreamlike, golden glowing butterfly effects and floating petals were subtly overlaid during post-processing. You might notice many light spots and floating dust effects in the images—these were not simply applied via filters. When setting up the venue before shooting, we had already used desk lamps and aromatherapy smoke to create foreground effects, so post-processing merely fine-tuned the atmosphere without overly altering the character's original lighting structure.

The character Hanazuki inherently possesses a composed, gentle demeanor, so during the shoot, I avoided forced or overly dramatic poses. Instead, I stayed true to her personality, maintaining a relaxed and languid state. Particularly in the photo where I lean semi-prone on the wooden couch, with my hand resting naturally near my ear while gazing into the camera, the sense of interaction feels much more authentic and natural.

The entire shoot took about four to five hours, with significant effort spent just adjusting the position of the fox ears and wig. Because the fluffy tail is quite large, placing it naturally and fully while maintaining balance really tested the photographer's mastery of composition. Everyone wanted to present their best state at the start of spring, and despite minor hiccups like the tassels snagging on the sleeve's tulle, the final results brought immense joy.

For traditional occasions like The Lantern Festival, choosing a costume in a pink, white, red, and gold palette works wonderfully for visual communication—it feels neither overly heavy nor lacking in vitality. The overall makeup avoided heavy drama, relying instead on fresh eyeshadow and casual lip colors to better match the character's youthful demeanor. Emerald green contact lenses were chosen to create a visual contrast with the pink hair, giving the eyes extra radiance.

This project was planned between the photographer and me well before the holiday, allowing us to complete the shoot during the break. For us, putting together a refined cosplay photoshoot at a festive time is a deeply meaningful endeavor. We hope this photo set filled with spring vitality brings everyone a relaxing and delightful viewing experience.
