Actually, before this shoot, I was constantly agonizing over what kind of opening would be most suitable when posting. Just now, I scrolled through my previous communication records and saw myself asking the photographer whether to call me Miss Elf or the Messenger of Eros, which I found incredibly interesting. Today, let me share this set of photos using this identity.
Regarding this look, I really adore its interwoven red-and-white design. On a pure white base, it features patchwork British-style red plaids, while the rather unique rose petal decorations at the neckline and the tiny golden heart accessory on the chest add many exquisite details to the overall outfit. For my hair, I chose a light pink short style with white highlights on both sides, which, when paired with the pointy features of my Elf ears cosplay, perfectly matches the warm color tones of the entire frame.
The shooting location was chosen in an indoor space with huge stained glass windows. Natural light streams through the glass, forming highly layered light and shadow effects, which not only makes the costume material look heavily textured but also makes it very easy to yield great shots. The white grand piano next to me was a prop I particularly insisted on using; I was initially worried that white would easily blend into the background, but the combination of the keys, the piano body, and the red and white flowers is actually very harmonious in composition. To match this gorgeous dress, a large area of white flowers was specially brought in as embellishments, with the fallen flowers on the piano forming a beautiful echo with the single white flower in my hand.
A lot of thought went into the poses for this shoot. Aside from the conventional standing pose, we also tried an extended movement of sitting on a chair with both hands raised above my head, as well as a casual sitting pose with my legs crossed by the piano. The latter beautifully elongates the visual proportion, showcasing the layers of the skirt hem and the red lace-up flower high heels around the ankles. The photographer was also amazing at capturing emotions; the playful, dynamic, yet slightly mysterious atmosphere I wanted was completely retained in the shutter clicks. Quite a few photos were taken in this total set, and although the lighting and movements look quite casual now, adjusting the reflectors and angles actually took a lot of time. The final presentation makes me feel that all the hard work was completely worth it. Regarding the color coordination, the classic combination of red, white, and gold looks premium no matter which scene it is placed in, which is probably why this styling is so enduringly beautiful for this piece of Anime-style photography for Elysia Cosplay from Honkai Impact 3rd.
