Posting a few convention photos from a few days ago, selecting two shots from different angles that I'm quite satisfied with for this event photo sharing.
The overall costume utilizes a light blue and purple-pink color scheme, combined with a large area of spiral textures and multi-layered ruffles, looking both rich in layers and highly lightweight visually. The headband on my head and the black bowties on my arms add some contrast in color, keeping the overall look from being too monotonous. The light cyan wig was styled with slight curls, which, paired with long bangs and the pointed elf ears prop to perfect this elf ear look, presents a very soft texture under the venue lighting.
For the makeup, I chose a cool-toned eye look this time, paired with light purple colored contacts, hoping to form a unified match with the hair and skirt colors. During the shoot, we walked back and forth in the exhibition hall to look for good light. Picture one is a looking-back pose; this angle can both display the length of the hair ends and beautifully highlight the off-the-shoulder and neck accessory details of the upper body. Picture two is a dynamic front view with my hands gesturing, mainly to display the spiral patterns on the sleeves and waist.
Although the convention venue is crowded and noisy, it is precisely because of this that the captured convention photos have that authentic atmosphere of an anime gathering. The lighting on-site was mostly overhead, so when shooting, I adjusted the angle of my jawline slightly to avoid casting harsh shadows. Although this outfit looks lightweight, the design of the skirt hem and cuffs actually has a lot of weight, and maintaining a posture with arms suspended in mid-air while taking photos definitely requires some arm strength.
After walking a whole lap around the convention and shooting a lot of material, these two are the ones where I feel my expression control and posture coordination are quite decent. Every time I go for convention photos, I arrange props and wigs way in advance to achieve the best results. The color combination of this outfit is highly eye-catching in environments like conventions, and photographer friends on-site caught the snapshots perfectly. I'm very satisfied with the overall result, and next time I go to a convention, I will continue to maintain this state to try more styles of Anime-style photography.
