If Elysia had never vanished, would she have longed for a daily life like this? A day free from the burden of being a hero, simply wanting to be an ordinary girl—brewing a cup of afternoon tea for you and chatting away the hours. To give form to this heartwarming notion, I planned and photographed this series.
For the wardrobe, I selected a classic black-and-white maid outfit. The top features white puff sleeves paired with a dark corset and a multi-tiered ruffled petticoat skirt, cinched at the waist with a black satin ribbon. To prevent the ensemble from feeling plain, I paid close attention to detail: the signature red heart choker around the neck, black lace arm cuffs, and over-the-knee White stockings anchored by garter straps. For shoes, I went with glossy black Mary Jane platforms. This look preserved key character hallmarks while melting seamlessly into cozy, everyday maid sensibilities.
Prepping the wig took considerable care. The short pink bob needed precise layering to look organic and airy. To capture her spirited charm, I wore lake-blue contact lenses and accented the makeup with rosy pink blush, aiming for that youthful, radiant vitality. The pointed elf-ear prosthetics were adjusted painstakingly to ensure they looked seamless from every camera angle.
The setting was a vintage, rustic room filled with cottagecore warmth. Floral fabric sofas, wooden shelving, and rows of glass bottles and teaware infused the scene with genuine lived-in charm. Sunlight filtered softly through sheer white lace curtains with immaculate gentleness. I prepared a wooden tray and faux pastry props, truly looking the part of preparing an afternoon tea. While posing, I intentionally avoided dramatic combat stances, seeking the most relaxed state possible: leaning back against the couch, crossing my legs on a wooden chair, or smiling softly while holding the serving tray, each pose carrying a trace of gentle repose. Especially in the seated shots, the pairing of White stockings and black Mary Janes built clean visual contrast, highlighting the everyday styling details I wanted to showcase.
A huge thank you to photographer @Tracy for capturing these frames and patiently refining the lighting and composition. For me, this shoot was not merely a Maid outfit cosplay session, but a fleeting, immersive embodiment of the character. Looking at that pink silhouette free from the weight of fate, I found a moment of quiet solace before the camera. No need to save the world—only savoring the warm sunlight and afternoon tea of the present. In this parallel timeline, she truly found the peaceful, ordinary life she deserved.
