Reflecting on the shooting process and experience of this Honkai Impact 3rd Herrscher of Human Elysia Cosplay set at the Zhongshan as29 convention. The lighting setup primarily utilized two large softboxes: one acting as a key light from the front-side, and another as a backlight. Since the venue's built-in ceiling lights were cool-toned, combining this side-backlight with a floor spotlight effectively separated the subject from the background. I wore red high heels and high-sheen White stockings. Paired with the circular spotlight on the ground, the lighting impact was very powerful. Sitting on a black high stool made the skirt hem difficult to control; to showcase the lines of long legs, visual focus needed to extend smoothly along the heels. The fluttering ribbons relied heavily on a standing fan beside me, and the wind-swept dynamic poses added a lively sense of breathing. To preserve authentic textures, minimal retouching was done throughout. The combination of White stockings and red high heels easily risks blowing out or producing harsh glare under intense lights, so adjusting the aperture and shutter speed took considerable time. Crouching on the ground to adjust shoe straps, that black bag conveniently blocked my calves, making it much easier to balance my center of gravity. Looking at the playback, the light and shadow on the facial close-ups looked stunning, largely thanks to the makeup artist's contouring and highlighting. Walking around the convention all day in this outfit was genuinely exhausting, especially on the hard flooring where high heels felt unforgiving, but maintaining an upright posture was necessary to showcase the character's curves. Subtle gestures and expressions were also crucial: looking back with a smile caught the frontal light perfectly. One close-up featured resting a chin on one hand while looking toward the lens, where focused eye contact breathed soul into the character. Live convention shoots always come with uncontrollable factors like passersby in the background; to ensure visual cleanliness, the photographer used a wide aperture telephoto lens to isolate focus. The reflective red material of the shoes was very eye-catching, and the floral and heart-shaped accents on the outfit perfectly matched the character's aesthetic. Covering half the cheek with long hair served as a foolproof pose. Reviewing photos in the evening, seeing that distinct bright circular spot on the floor in thumbnails made me realize how well the lighting atmosphere turned out. Under high-brightness lighting, maintaining facial contour definition required precise angle coordination; combined with pink hair blowing in the fan, it delivered strong live presence. Regarding garment textures, the pink dress revealed varied depth under the lights while the red upper section was matte, creating an intriguing contrast. The heart-shaped cutout and red rose prop at the neckline framed the shoulders beautifully, highlighting elegance. During this shoot, I also consulted the photographer on utilizing cool-toned ambient ceiling lights for contrast. Looking solely at final photos can't convey the complexity of on-set lighting—fan positioning and stand heights required continuous fine-tuning. Achieving that dynamic aerial flow of the skirt and ribbons took many attempts before reaching satisfaction. The seated pose required extending the legs while leaning slightly forward to flatter leg length in perspective, truly testing core strength. Overall, meeting everyone at Zhongshan as29 with this pink-themed Herrscher of Human photo set through this documentary approach is my way of Photography sharing and exchanging live cosplay takeaways.
