[Elysia Cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd Convention Photos from the World Line Anime Convention at Western China International Expo City

With styled short pink hair and a black, gold, and purple gown, I completed this shoot at the Anime convention in Western China International Expo City. During the initial fitting, what pleased me most was the striking contrast between the grand purple skirt train and the black-and-gold trim.

On the day of the shoot, the venue was packed; surrounded by crowds taking photos, I had to constantly mind the skirt hem and the placement of the bouquet. The biggest challenge of this look was the high-low skirt design—short in front and long in back—meaning I had to hold up the inner purple trim while walking to keep from stepping on it. The jacket material is relatively stiff, holding a crisp structural silhouette, though it slightly restricted the range of arm movements. To flatter the leg lines, braving bare legs with high heels in this room temperature genuinely took some courage; walking around was fine, but a distinct chill crept in whenever we paused to rest—a necessary trade-off in the pursuit of character fidelity.

The background bokeh was achieved using a wide-aperture lens combined with the hall's ambient lighting; circular light orbs kept the frame clean and crisp, making the subject pop beautifully. Photographer Lanqiaodesu is adept at utilizing bounce boards and overhead lighting, faithfully capturing the glossy black finish and golden linear accents on the costume, rendering both the folds of the skirt and the path of light with great clarity.

For hair and makeup, I deliberately chose light blue eyeshadow and elongated lashes to complement the short pink hair, keeping my gaze sharp and spirited. The soft pink and white blossoms in the bouquet harmonized with my hair color. Although set against a cool-toned backdrop, the bouquet's warm hues provided a balanced contrast. To enhance the shots, the gesture of holding up the skirt hem was rehearsed in advance, which gracefully displayed the curve of the drape while making movement much easier.

With a sizable crowd gathered for photos, I felt slightly nervous at first, but grew far more natural once accustomed to the lenses. The pacing was managed well, and walking back and forth a few times quickly revealed the most flattering angles. Navigating the hall's complex lighting—with deep shadows alongside cool blue illumination—the photographer's snapshot timing proved crucial. The costume's texture is unique: the glossy black reflective fabric is remarkably photogenic, while the purple sections feature subtle jacquard textures. Paired together, they establish architectural structure without looking heavy. Overall, the composition across this set is full and balanced, keeping the subject centered with comfortable proportions. This Cosplay photography experience at the Anime convention was wonderful; exhausting as it was, capturing the makeup and costume nuances so faithfully made it thoroughly rewarding.
