[Rem Cosplay] A Brief Note on the Cheongsam Duo Outdoor Shoot with Emilia - Image 2

This white cheongsam matches my partner's costume with perfect chemistry. In fact, we had been conceiving a cheongsam photoshoot for Rem and Emilia together for a very long time. Although there are still a few days left before the final edited photos are out, I couldn't resist releasing two behind-the-scenes photos first.

Our main idea this time was to have a refreshing yet festive feel. The costume used fabrics with jacquard patterns, paired with gold piping and frog buttons. On my end, because it's a Rem cosplay look, the white cheongsam's neckline features a halter neck and bow design. The gold armlets and gems on the sleeves have an incredibly premium texture, and the waist accessories were also meticulously selected. To fit the character setting, the bangs and the color of the blue hair were adjusted for a long time. That small purple 'X' hair clip is also highly eye-catching, and combined with the white flower headwear, the overall color tone looks very comfortable. My partner Ayu kiru's Emilia cosplay look is also incredible; her long straight white hair paired with purple braids and the yellow-white flower ornaments on top makes her look exceptionally gentle. Standing next to her makes the entire frame feel sweet.

Actually, the shooting process was quite fun. The small purple round ball prop we held in the photos is actually a small magic ball, which surprisingly blends in with a rather traditional garment like the cheongsam with a wonderful sense of integration. On-site, we kept making various intimate interaction gestures toward the camera, and the lighting and angles were adjusted back and forth several times, aiming to present the best expressions. Seeing someone jokingly express envy toward that guy Subaru (486) in the description—indeed, being able to shoot Emilia and Rem's cheongsams with my waifu gives a massive sense of duo cosplay chemistry. Even looking at the original raw photos myself feels full of love. Thinking about how Subaru would be stunned out of his mind seeing this scene in the anime makes me laugh.

Regarding makeup, we put in a lot of hard work this time, focusing on a natural and translucent look for the eyeshadow and glitter. The hairstyle was also intentionally made very voluminous, complementing the wig and colored contact lenses, hoping to restore the lively charm of 2D characters. Currently, the official photoshoot is still being refined by the post-production team. We originally planned to enrich the background set of this outfit a bit more, but just the current behind-the-scenes photos are already highly satisfying. Every cosplay brings different surprises, and this cheongsam duo theme shot a genuinely unique feeling—preserving the core traits of the characters while blending in the beauty of traditional Eastern apparel. I hope the subsequent official photoshoot can perfectly showcase these details and record our best states.
