Early planning for the Duo cosplay photoshoot featuring Big Cartethyia and Small Cartethyia centered on unifying the makeup style while differentiating dynamic expressions to avoid visual disjointedness caused by external differences. Big Cartethyia's setting leans cool, so the hair was styled as smooth, long straight hair paired with branch ornaments, with gaze and posture favoring static dignity. Small Cartethyia used double braids paired with black-rimmed glasses to enhance a lively vibe, expressing playfulness and relaxation in demeanor. The makeup uniformly featured a clean, translucent base with cool-toned eyeshadow; fast-drying glue was used for the Elf ear makeup and styling, adjusted repeatedly for a skin-seamless blend. Translucent icy blue contact lenses were chosen so the hair color wouldn't steal visual focus from the core features.

Costumes were the highlight of this shoot, mixing white, blue, black, and silver-gray. Fabric texture was crucial: Big Cartethyia's black base layer contrasted sharply with the silver-white outer skirt, while gray-blue dragon-scale arm armor added weight (requiring careful arm movement angles to avoid binding joints). Small Cartethyia featured a lighter design with pleated cuts and off-shoulder styling, with silver long floating ribbons adding dynamic extension when walking. Both costumes featured intricate metal chains and pendants that had to be untangled prior to shooting, as unmanaged fittings easily look cluttered on camera.

For the backdrop, we used a large deep-blue velvet curtain to set the tone, with subtle light spots creating a mysterious starry night under soft lighting. The foreground featured white plaster Roman pillars, vintage candelabras, and low-saturation cream-white flowers. Rendered under purple-blue ambient light, the background matched the cool and mysterious temperament of the outfits. Front-side soft lighting outlined skin translucency while retaining fabric texture. Full-body shots were kept in selection, where transparent high-heeled sandals elongated leg lines, paired with blue ankle straps for a clean, non-cluttered composition in Blue and white photography.

Capturing duo interaction tested mutual chemistry. In the second photo pose, Big Cartethyia stood demonstrating costume extension while Small Cartethyia sat on white stair steps with one leg extended and hand gestures, captured dozens of times to reach a relaxed yet expressive state with natural eye contact. We varied standing and sitting heights across positions (such as one standing and one sitting in the third photo), utilizing depth between foreground and background to highlight individual character traits. Under light and shadow, the costume texture truly stood out—whether the lightness of flowing gauze or metallic sheen, achieving expected results through studio shooting. Fully immersing myself in completing a work I am satisfied with is a meaningful record in itself, sharing these visual and emotional moments authentically.
