[Rem cosplay] Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World Summer Poolside Photoshoot: The Collision of Sheer Sailor Suit and White Stockings

This poolside photoshoot series for Rem was captured in an indoor temperature-controlled swimming pool, aiming for a refreshing, sweet summery vibe. In preparing for this shoot, our primary focus centered on wardrobe coordination and thorough waterproofing for the cosmetic look. For the top, I selected a short-sleeved white sailor shirt tailored from an ultralight, semi-sheer fabric layered over a classic blue-and-white striped swimsuit. The collar was styled with a yellow tie and a red ribbon knot, which was pre-fixed so it wouldn't unravel underwater. The lower half paired a white ruffled mini skirt trimmed with blue accent lines alongside white tights. The White tights cosplay delivered completely different visual textures submerged versus lounging poolside—clinging closely to the skin when wet in the water, while crisp ambient light along the pool deck brought out the woven texture with pristine clarity. The wig was cut into Rem's signature sky-blue bob, paired with pink-toned eye shadow blended generously across the lids and vivid blue contact lenses to elevate her spirited charm. Head accessories included a sailor cap adorned with a pink front bow and crossed pink bobby pins on the side, finished with a ruffled yellow scrunchie around my wrist to enrich the frame's color story.

The venue was an indoor pool lined with blue-and-white mosaic tiles, with natural daylight streaming through expansive floor-to-ceiling windows to create a crystalline, luminous feel. To match the summer theme, I brought along a grey-and-white inflatable swim ring as the anchor prop. In the first photo, I sat atop the swim ring in the pool with one hand resting against my head; the water reached just above my waist as dancing caustics played across the semi-sheer fabric. The second photo seated me along the pool coping with crossed legs and one hand supporting me on the deck, an angle that showcased the delicate textures of both the tights and the sheer blouse as directional light raked in from the side. In the third shot, I leaned over the floating ring with my legs trailing in the water, a framing that offered great diagonal depth. The fourth capture caught a candid moment of me adjusting my collar tie along the pool edge. Because we spent extended time in the water, waterproof setting spray and waterproof mascara were absolute essentials; when touching up, I always blotted away surface moisture with a tissue before pressing powder into the skin. As a practical tip, don't overinflate the swim ring—leaving a little give allows it to contour and cup the body much better whether sitting or lounging. The entire shoot went seamlessly, and the natural water reflections added gorgeous, shimmering dynamic ripples throughout the photos.

This look fused sailor uniform aesthetics with swimwear, honoring the character's recognizable visual identity while harmonizing with a summer pool setting. The shoot demanded high breathability from the textiles; since they were submerged repeatedly, the lightweight fabric dried quickly to facilitate rapid continuous shooting. In moving between underwater frames and surface poses, preserving flawless makeup was paramount, as was regularly readjusting the wig line to keep the character's silhouette sharp before the lens. The finished photos achieved everything we envisioned for this summer Sweet girl cosplay concept.
