Today, I wrapped up the studio session for Aemeath at Kasumi Studio; the intricacies of this outfit were far more complex than anticipated. To faithfully capture the character's nuances, I dedicated substantial prep work to everything from wig trimming to prop handling.
Let's start with the wardrobe. The core of this outfit is a white one-piece bodysuit spliced with black and gold lines, accented with a blue bow and metallic charms across the chest. To ensure the bodysuit hugged my frame cleanly without appearing rigid on camera, I wore shapewear underneath to smooth out every silhouette line. The element requiring the greatest care was the set of semi-sheer gradient streamers trailing from the waist, transitioning delicately from pink to cyan-white. These ribbons easily tangle or hang stiffly during a shoot. After coordinating with photographer Yi Han, we utilized wind blowers combined with discreet internal wire supports, allowing the streamers to float with an airy, windblown drift that perfectly channels the ethereal vitality of an electronic ghost.
The asymmetrical leg styling is a quintessential highlight of this look. The right leg features a gold star-accented thigh ring, while the left sports a white over-the-knee sock trimmed with gold and blue borders. To prevent the Over-the-knee socks from slipping or wrinkling before the lens, I secured them with specialized body tape along the zettai ryouiki, ensuring the leg contours remained sleek even during one-legged kicks or wide dynamic stretches. The footwear consisted of white chunky-heeled booties; to match the garment's sci-fi aesthetic, I applied reflective powder along the gilded front zipper, which caught the studio strobes with refined sheen.
The staff prop carried beautiful tactile texture, though it was certainly not lightweight. During the takes, I experimented with diverse poses—flashing a one-handed peace sign, resting the shaft over my shoulder, or thrusting it forward toward the camera. To prevent the staff from casting shadows over my face, I calibrated its angle relative to my facial plane. Photographer Yi Han handled lighting with consummate skill: high-key photography against a seamless pure white backdrop demands not only even key lighting, but crisp rim backlights to outline the contours of both the subject and the trailing streamers. Each time the strobes fired, I micro-adjusted my expressions—especially for the mid-shot close-up, infusing my gaze with ethereal, composed poise while keeping hand gestures relaxed to prevent my shoulders from tensing up.
For hair and makeup, the pastel-pink wig required meticulous detangling for a silky drape, paired with pale-toned contact lenses to match the character's iris shade. The tattoo decals across my neck and collarbone served as a delightful finishing touch, requiring careful alignment with the neckline to ensure seamless visual harmony. The eye makeup leaned into pink tones with subtly winged eyeliner, cultivating a delicate, slightly enigmatic aura.
The entire shoot progressed seamlessly, and the comfortable studio temperature allowed me to maintain optimal energy in the bodysuit. The framing and posing throughout were tailored to highlight the character's complete styling and ethereal temperament. Reviewing the raw frames afterward, the dynamic motion of the floating streamers was frozen at the ideal instant, and the tactile weave of the Over-the-knee socks was preserved in pristine clarity.
