Preparing this costume was quite intricate. The main challenge lay in the long white streamers and the blue crystal headpieces, which required precise angle adjustments. The mirror selfie portion was done to check if the gear was worn correctly—especially the leg lines and shoe pairing, where bare legs with high-heeled sandals better match the intended ethereal lightness of the Game character design. This shoot mainly utilized natural light by the window at home. Photo 3 is a frontal shot: standing by the window, the light glides along hair strands and headpieces, illuminating the tips of the Blonde elf ears props until they look beautifully translucent. The plush toy held in my hand was originally meant to help anchor poses or add interactive charm. In terms of role setting, she is a free knight in Wuthering Waves—that wandering essence unattached to any fixed faction calls for a relaxed look while maintaining a posture ready to draw a sword at any second. To capture this stance, I deliberately adjusted my standing posture during shooting—such as turning slightly sideways and directing my gaze past the prop into the lens. Later during mirror selfies, I used mirror reflections to balance the drape of the chest accessories, bringing out the layered depth of the outfit. While holding the prop had some weight, it brought dynamic vitality to the frame. The costume's overall white-and-blue gradient paired with the background's blue door and white curtains made the color palette remarkably cohesive. The streamers of this garment naturally drape and flutter while moving, a microscopic detail that required careful capture during the shoot. Since it was my first time attempting this Game character's styling for Cartethyia Cosplay, I referenced numerous original design details in costume and makeup, striving to simulate that outdoor riding sense of freedom under natural lighting. The entire process lasted several hours, continuously tweaking accessories like the silver hand bangles, as these nuances reflect the character's personality and optimize overall refinement. The costume design features generous open space without the restrictive bulk of heavy armor; hence, for character emotion, I hoped to project an effortless, aloof, yet mysterious aura. Mirror shots are truly the best angle for inspecting overall coordination and proportions—especially foot and leg lines contrasting against the wood floor grain. The high-heeled sandal design not only elongates the legs but also subtly conveys the character's lively agility. The ribbons on the back are richly layered; showcasing them completely requires careful angle consideration, and the first two mirror photos managed to balance both front and back elements. Light through the window blinds cast unique striped shadows across the costume, keeping the images dynamic. For players pursuing fidelity, consistency in color tone and material pairing was one of the benchmarks for this shoot. Although holding up the plush toy made my arms a bit tired, it softened my expressions nicely, making what was an otherwise stern silhouette feel much more lively. Here, the creative process felt like exploring the character's inner world. Through positioning, demeanor, and costume synergy, I sought to interpret the gallant spirit of this knight roaming freely across vast lands. A photoshoot is not just documentation, but an immersive emotional experience. From material selection to crafting, the headpiece patterns and the blue luster of the forehead ornament were key to elevating character recognizability. Because the overall palette leaned cool, assisted lighting had to carefully preserve the costume's original texture. The entire shoot was completed indoors, experimenting with multiple poses by shifting mirror angles. In truth, facial expression management is the hardest part of mirror selfies, requiring either hiding behind the phone or finding a natural angle—such as Photo 1's profile, which displays body lines without looking forced. Photo 3's frontal shot tested facial expression the most, but holding the plush toy high helped relax facial muscles. For this costume, text prints on the skirt hem and straps around the cuffs were key details to preserve during post-processing retouching. As someone passionate about cosplay, I deeply felt how crucial styling is to interpreting a character. Slipping into this outfit, I felt imbued with her very spirit. I treat photoshoots as a dialogue with the Game character. Especially as a carefree knight, that nonchalant yet remarkably powerful aura needed to be captured in still frames. While sorting through these photos, I reviewed how well each costume component worked together and analyzed which angles produced the best shots. Full-body shots rely heavily on lighting and posture: keeping slight distance between the feet and subtly tilting the hips stabilizes the visual center of gravity.
