This official shoot of Qingxiao from Wuthering Waves was completed in a seamless white studio. To echo the concept of 'As the heavens fall, one blade brings the dawn,' the entire session focused on emotional depth and physical tension. Upon receiving the outfit, the layered dimension of the blue-and-white color scheme stood out immediately; the cloud patterns on the top and the golden choker required careful reflection control against the white background. I paired it with white tights to elongate the leg lines, perching on a white pedestal with one leg naturally draped down and the other slightly bent, raising my left hand gently while keeping my gaze softly cast downward. While this posture looks effortless, my core was engaged the entire time; to preserve the cascading drape of the sheer chiffon, any slouching would immediately make the silhouette look bulky.
The greatest challenge of White studio photography is preventing the composition from looking flat. The photographer placed a softbox to the side while utilizing overhead lighting to carve out the contours of the wig and shoulders. The curled fringe of the blue short wig had to be set with hairspray in advance to prevent losing its shape during arm movements. For facial makeup, eyeshadow saturation was intentionally dialed down, emphasizing cool detachment through softly reddened outer corners of the eyes and natural lip tones. The outer layers of the costume make extensive use of semi-translucent chiffon, so the lighting deliberately accentuated the fabric's weave, letting light filter through for a soft, gradual transition.
We experimented with multiple camera angles throughout the shoot. After testing both standing and seated poses, we found that a low angle with me seated on the circular pedestal best captured the garment's graceful drape and the character's sense of detachment. To capture the billowing chiffon, an assistant gently fanned with a reflector board nearby, taking several burst shots to land the most natural arc along the hemline. Because White stockings easily blow out under bright studio lights, the legs were toned down separately to retain the delicate weave of the fabric. The first finished frame was overlaid with water ripples and bokeh flare effects to evoke a fantasy aura of flowing currents, while the second preserved the raw lighting texture of the white studio—both styles brought their own distinct charm.
The costume is rich in details: the metallic side trims and the floral neck ornament pop vividly against the solid background, yet they also restricted movement range since lifting my arms too high would pull awkwardly at the chest fabric. The entire shoot took roughly four hours, continually refining seated poses and hand gestures to convey the impending crisis within static frames. The world of Wuthering Waves offers boundless imaginative room, and Qingxiao's composed temperament prompted me to strip away unnecessary motion during the shoot. The final Anime cosplay photos aligned closely with our vision, delivering a crisp, clean aesthetic through cool blue-and-white tones framed by the immaculate white studio.
