Sitting before the classroom desk at this very moment, I suddenly realized that having an uninterrupted pocket of time to completely space out—without agonizing over the next second's schedule—is a rare luxury. For this Wuthering Waves Lynae (Wuthering Waves Lynae) photoshoot, we selected the most familiar of backdrops: an empty classroom. Stepping into this outfit, styling the streaked wig into twin buns, and pinning on the skull hair clips, looking into the mirror felt as though I had genuinely slipped into an ordinary afternoon at StarTorch Academy.
The wardrobe details were surprisingly intricate. Rolling up the white long-sleeved collared shirt revealed the graffiti graphics across the left sleeve; fastening the grid-patterned pale-green necktie at the collar, accented by miniature black clips and pins, brought multi-dimensional layering to the look. The lower half featured a classic black pleated skirt; to match the character's techwear edge, I deliberately paired it with a black leather thigh garter adorned with metal buckles and a small black utility pouch. It swung with subtle weight while walking, but delivered phenomenal visual flair on camera. Mid-calf socks paired with glossy black Mary Janes clicked crisply against the timber floorboards as I bustled around the classroom.
The lighting that day was gorgeous. The photographer set up lights beside the podium, letting me perch on a student desk to ease into the mood. At first, I felt a bit rigid, naturally accustomed to rushing for quick takes. Yet the room was so quiet, and the gentle breeze filtering through the windows softened the deep green hue of the chalkboard. To channel that lazy, nonchalant demeanor, I rested my headphones around my neck, lightly steadying them with one hand while casually draping the other across my lap. Later, I cradled an acoustic guitar; though I only know basic chords, the casual gesture of pretending to tune the strings brought spontaneous life into the frame.
To capture varied perspectives, we rotated postures across desks, chairs, and the podium. In one sequence, sitting directly atop the desk with one knee bent resting on an adjacent chair showcased the Black stockings (Black stockings) and thigh garter; framing from a low angle added dramatic visual tension. Other frames found me standing before the blackboard holding a white baton prop against chalk scribbles, looking as though we had just wrapped a band rehearsal. Just before packing up, I framed the lens with my fingers in a mock viewfinder gesture and offered a candid smile—in that fleeting second, I genuinely forgot about having other appointments to rush toward afterward.
Cosplay often used to feel like an intense sprint—racing through costume changes, makeup touch-ups, and angle hunting like checking off checklist tasks. Yet sitting idle in the classroom between takes, watching tree shadows dance beyond the pane, I was struck by the realization that sitting quietly, listening to the ambient breeze outside without worrying about where to head next, is a truly precious comfort. That wraps up this sharing—until next time!
