[Eyjafjalla Cosplay] Arknights x Sanrio Crossover Group Shoot: Capturing Happy 520 Moments

The main theme of this shoot is the Arknights x Sanrio crossover collaboration, serving as a special group photoshoot project for May 20th (520). As the Eyjafjalla Cosplay representative in this group, my entire makeup and hair styling revolved around the adorable "Plush Little Witch" concept.

Let's talk about makeup first. To capture that soft, fluffy texture of the Sanrio collab, the eye makeup used shimmering earth tones and orange-pink shades, accented at the outer corners with pearlescent purplish-pink. Paired with false lashes and contact lenses, it created a wide-eyed, rounded effect for the camera. For lips, I chose a milk-tea nude pink matching my wig, topped with a glossy lip glaze—achieving a look that balances character liveliness with a touch of witchy cleverness. Under natural outdoor light and against the steam locomotive background, this makeup felt exceptionally high-quality without looking overly heavy, fitting the sweet crossover theme perfectly.

As for the costume, the signature traits of the Sanrio crossover are very distinct. The ensemble relies on a pink and white palette, featuring intricate ruffles on the upper torso. The neckline combines a black bow tie with light blue satin ribbons, and my favorite detail is the golden heart pendant right at the center of the bow—adding pure elegance. The black hat is adorned with animal-ear shapes and white fluffy trim, making it irresistible to touch. Joining me in this shoot were my dear friends presenting Goldenglow cosplay, Executor cosplay, and Lumen cosplay. Goldenglow's long pink hair paired with a bold red bow and white beast ears looked delightfully soft; Executor's platinum-white short hair and head halo were instantly recognizable, perfectly embodying calm composure with his black-gloved poses; Lumen's dark blue short hair paired with a white lab coat over a dark blue sweater projected a quiet, gentle demeanor. Despite our different color palettes, we achieved an amazingly harmonious frame thanks to the bright color coordination of the Sanrio crossover theme.

Location choice was also crucial. We picked an outdoor creative park featuring a vintage steam train engine. The giant black locomotive served as our background, anchoring the bright pink and white tones of our outfits to create a striking yet balanced visual contrast. The group shot in Photo 1 was captured in front of this train; standing together, everyone struck adorable poses—some making V-signs, others tilting their heads—taking several shots to select the absolute best state. The subsequent dual-person shots were taken near adjacent lawn pathways and red-brick architecture, where close-ups brought the lens closer to capture the humid, refreshing breeze of early summer.

Regarding lighting and composition, the photographer put a lot of thought into the setup. The overcast outdoor light was soft without harsh overhead shadows, illuminating faces evenly to showcase skin texture and wig luster flawlessly. When capturing close-up dual portraits, the photographer utilized surrounding foliage and railings to create soft background bokeh, clearly highlighting facial details and intricate embroidery while keeping our iconic character elements—my hat, Executor's halo, Lumen's hair—at the visual center.

The smooth execution of this group shoot was mainly thanks to our long-standing chemistry. Although our outfits and wigs posed individual styling challenges—such as my wig requiring twin braids with constant adjustments for clips and hat angles—everyone helped fix each other's looks and hand over props. Throughout the process, we repeatedly checked shot results and lighting angles without a trace of fatigue, filling the behind-the-scenes with laughter. Creating these beautiful memories with friends in front of the camera is far more joyful than solo shoots—making it the ultimate tribute to a day as filled with love as 520.
