[Lin Yuxia cosplay] Arknights Lungmen Rainy Night: A Textured Glance Back Under Old Street Neons

Choosing an old alley like this to capture the rainy day atmosphere of Lungmen was really about chasing that contrast between urban neon and mundane street life. Before heading out, I repeatedly checked the fabric textures; the matte material of the black coat spliced with blue cuffs exhibits a more restrained sheen in the humid, rainy air, perfectly matching the character's temperament.

In terms of styling, the pink-purple twin tails paired with animal ears on both sides create a sense of displacement against the real-world old street—this non-daily aesthetic is precisely where the charm of cosplay lies. To achieve an authentic rain effect, dense water mist was sprayed droplet by droplet onto the clear umbrella so passing light formed bright highlights, visually enhancing the distinct dampness of a rainy night atmosphere. At the same time, paired with a black tights outfit and high-heeled ankle boots, the puddles on the ground reflected the upper body's silhouette, giving the character a more grounded stance while a low-angle wide lens elongated the leg lines to fully showcase the dynamic tension of the silhouette.

That day, we walked back and forth along the alley countless times, repeatedly testing camera angles to capture the natural billow of the coat hem as I moved. In terms of lighting, we didn't force overly bright fills, instead preserving the original warm-and-cool color temperature contrast of shop signs and street lamps—cyan in the shadows and orange in the highlights. This color separation naturally brings out the ambience of Lungmen's streets. Every backward glance or languid turn holding the umbrella had to be executed without looking directly into the lens, ensuring an effortless, slightly aloof vibe true to the character.

During the shoot, I paid close attention to subtle details, such as how the black tights outfit caught the night light and how the long coat maintained smooth drapery during turns—all requiring dynamic exploration for the best angles. Since the entire set was shot inside a narrow alley, the setting provided immense visual depth, neatly guiding the eye toward the center along the lines of the red-brick pavement. In the final images, the interplay of warm and cool halos complemented the texture of the raindrops; without excessive post-processing color grading, the photos largely preserved the coexistence of grounded everyday life and sharp, cool tension.

The rainy Lungmen ambiance was authentically recreated in this old town alleyway. We didn't even deliberately avoid roadside trash bins or weathered signs, as they added an authentic layer of real life to the frame. Although the shooting process was somewhat exhausting, the immersive presence of on-location Cosplay photography is hard to replicate in a studio. Huge thanks to the crew who supported props and lighting in the rain; our great teamwork brought this set of warm memories to life.
