For this Arknights Amiya 'White Rabbit' themed cosplay costume, I poured considerable effort during the shoot into bringing out its nuanced craftsmanship. The ensemble is composed of a blue-and-white plaid dress layered beneath a white pinafore-style suspender apron. The fabric carries a solid, tailored weight; the plaid weaves navy and light blue together, interlaced with fine red lines that inject a playful cadence into the cool palette. The neckline features a ruffled white Peter Pan collar bordered by delicate red piping. My favorite detail is the apron's hem, printed with rows of blue rabbit silhouettes that echo the oversized plush animal ears atop my head, exuding vibrant charm. The wig is styled into brown twin tails with subtle curling at the tips, clipped on each side with blue ribbons to secure the strands while adding rich visual layers to the styling.
For the set, we selected a solid gray cyclorama backdrop and a white circular podium—a minimalist studio setup ideally suited to accentuate the vivid color contrasts of anime attire. Lighting in the studio relied primarily on twin softboxes positioned on both sides, ensuring even facial illumination while preserving the sculptural fold textures along the skirt flounces. Supported by an inner crinoline petticoat, the skirt maintained a perfectly rounded, voluminous bell silhouette, capturing breathtaking dynamic arcs during jumps and spins.
The central prop of this shoot was a colossal plush bolster shaped like a White Rabbit candy wrapper, printed with the iconic red-and-blue packaging graphic. To make this prop blend organically into the frame, I explored diverse interactive gestures: clasping the pillow with both arms while tilting my torso, or lifting it by a corner with one hand while executing airy leg lifts. Wearing black Mary Jane shoes and white crew socks atop the platform, balancing on one foot required careful center-of-gravity calibration and mindful leg muscle engagement to ensure the posture felt graceful rather than tense. At times, capturing a perfectly flared hem demanded jumping repeatedly while maintaining a sweet, composed smile—a demanding test of stamina and core stability.
In terms of postural choreography, I wove in numerous buoyant hops and spins, such as kicking one leg back or glancing over my shoulder toward the camera. This allowed us to showcase the costume's cut from all angles while infusing the compositions with kinetic energy. The photographer provided continuous guidance on micro-adjustments, particularly regarding the positioning of my head and hands; because the plush bunny ears and twin tails occupy substantial visual space, improper angles easily obscured facial contours or appeared cluttered. Gently glancing down at the bolster or angling the chin to carve out the jawline became recurring postures throughout the set.
Furthermore, makeup emphasized eye contours to lend the gaze spirited clarity that harmonized with the outfit's bright styling. While the palette was crisp and refreshing, posing required constant checks on the skirt flounces and oversized ribbons—especially the massive bowknot at the back—to ensure they presented their best form before the lens. Between takes, continuous smoothing of the wig and fabric was vital to eliminate awkward bunching. Moving through iterative refinements, the shoot was physically demanding, yet beholding the dimensional shadows of the skirt and tactile textures of the props on the preview monitor made every moment deeply rewarding. I cherish this journey of transforming two-dimensional designs into living, breathing reality, merging wardrobe, props, and body language to express the character's signature warmth and vivacity.
