[Sui family cosplay] Arknights Sui Family New Year's Eve Cosplay Gathering Record

As the New Year's Eve bells prepare to ring, the full Sui family finally gathered together neatly on this day. This team-building session was not only to celebrate the New Year, but also a dedicated cosplay shoot planned specifically to commemorate the big family of the Arknights Sui family cosplay. From initial makeup trials, wig styling, and various animal horn accessories to setting up the venue in advance, everyone brought their best state to welcome this special day.

To capture the ideal New Year's Eve greeting photos, we specifically chose an indoor space with warm white walls as our main shooting location. Not only would the freezing winter winds outdoors make it hard to keep makeup intact, but indoor light sources could also be controlled to create an atmosphere fitting a New Year's Eve family banquet. In the first photo, we lined up with smiles, holding red "Fu" character cards and couplets. With nine characters in the team, positioning was crucial to composition. After repeated deliberations between the photographer and us, we arranged into two layers: a squatted friend in front holding a large upside-down "Fu" character, while those behind unrolled a long scroll, making the center rich and sides extended, radiating festive New Year warmth.

Everyone pulled out all the stops, striving to thoroughly display the lively warmth of the Sui siblings celebrating the New Year together. The moment the shutter clicked, out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of pointed ears and intricate hair ornaments on adjacent characters, swaying softly with gentle head turns and refracting various lusters under the lights. Despite wearing heavy coats, complex armor, and distinct horn accessories—constantly watching out for snagged wigs or obstructed views—it didn't stop us from displaying the festive warmth of the Spring Festival in front of the lens. The red-and-gold couplets carefully prepared by the prop team fused surprisingly harmoniously with our character costumes, adding warmth to cool-toned styling.

Beside the standard lined-up Cosplay group photo, another high-angle selfie snapshot served as a surprise moment of this gathering. During shooting breaks, everyone crowded around looking at themselves on the phone screen. At that moment, the tension of roleplaying dissolved into natural closeness between friends and family. The friend in the front row held the phone as the photographer while everyone naturally rested arms on shoulders or squeezed close, filling every angle with vibrant wigs, long ears, and horns. The friend making a peace sign in the top right corner added playfulness to the compact frame. Such subconscious interaction felt much more authentically warm than forced poses. Jade horns, red horns, and yellow horns atop everyone's heads, alongside varied costume collar and armor details, created striking texture contrast under the flash.

In this group shoot, the hardest part was not recreating individual characters, but ensuring everyone had a clear visual focus when framing multiple people together. Fortunately, our set of Sui family character settings inherently carries deep sibling bonds, so during the shoot, we used everyday interactions like joking around and fixing each other's accessories to break camera shyness. The photographer captured moments precisely, recording us squinting from laughter or adjusting ribbons behind someone. Beyond the frame itself, costume and accessory prep was a massive project—such as Chongyue cosplay's stiff leather coat and exquisite dragon horns that deeply impressed me, along with flowing ribbons and metal pendants. To match individual personalities perfectly, many small components were hand-sewn, taking immense effort.

To align with New Year's Eve flavor, we specially prepared specific red talisman props for characters like Zuo Le and Yu, which echoed their traditional Chinese style garments. During on-site shooting, we frequently encountered wigs and hats snagging on each other's horns or charms tangling with charging cables; helping each other out only made the atmosphere livelier.

In truth, for every large convention or themed group shoot, the upfront workload is always massive—from costume selection to unifying makeup details, and even pacing steps during filming to avoid stepping on long hems. Regarding light and positioning, we abandoned overly complex lighting setups, combining natural light reflected off pale walls with indoor softboxes to pursue authentic skin textures.

New Year's Eve holds extraordinary meaning for Chinese people, and on this day, completing a high-quality group photo centered on the beloved Arknights Sui family theme is a deeply cherished memory from this year. What the frames freeze is not just the outer looks of nine distinct characters, but our passion for cosplay and genuine team chemistry. The natural smiles shining through every photo, alongside red ornaments and scrolls in hand, serve as the finest Spring Festival greeting.
