On the streets of Tokyo on New Year's Eve, the busy pace of a year's hard work slows down at this moment. Having delicious food with friends, the atmosphere was just right, so I shot this Arknights W Vigil Champion Qipao look.

This qipao's tailoring fits the body curves quite well. The patchwork of deep red and dark gray fabrics gives off a velvet texture under the lights. The neckline design guarantees character recognition while retaining the aesthetic of a modified daily outfit.

The combination of the red-and-black palette and white plush elements perfectly matches the festive feeling. The red and black primary colors plus the white plush sleeves bring a New Year vibe while preserving the character's signature mysterious and aggressive traits.

The red sharp horn accessories on the head and the tail are the soul of this look. The shoot was intentionally set indoors with a spiral staircase and vintage wallpaper. The intricate background and warm, low-key lighting beautifully accentuated the texture of the silver twin-tails, presenting an overall atmosphere reminiscent of a vintage oil painting.

For the Qipao makeup and styling, the red lip and slightly elongated eyeliner precisely capture the character's dangerous yet charming temperament. The fur props look very fluffy and soft under the lights. Whether used as a shawl or sleeves, they blend ingeniously with the tailoring of the qipao.

To capture different angles, we tried multiple camera positions and shot sizes. In addition to the conventional front half-body shots, we specifically took close-ups of the exposed back and the side profile. The first image focuses on the face, beautifully preserving the color of the contact lenses and the details of the lip makeup. The subsequent mirror shots and high-angle views were intended to enhance that lazy, dangerous, and slightly detached vampire vibe in an ancient castle.

These few images utilized reflectors and foreground blurring techniques. For example, the shots reflecting off the mirror used candlesticks and the foreground fur as obstructions to create a voyeuristic and narrative feel, making the image layers richer. A large area of soft light illuminated the silhouette of the hair strands, giving the white hair stronger expressiveness. The only flaw is that one of the images has a rather crude censor blur, which was mainly to display the visual effect of the sitting pose.

Having New Year's Eve dinner with friends in Tokyo feels truly special, bringing a wonderful sense of relaxation in a foreign land. The photos shot for this look have excellent texture, making it very suitable as an opening chapter for the Lunar New Year. Focusing on perfecting the details in our cosplay photography, the ritualistic sense of the New Year countdown is maximized.
