This blue and white checkered dress for Amiya cosplay was recognized by so many fellow fans at the convention, which made me super happy. When I first chose this costume, I really appreciated how it beautifully combined the everyday casual vibe of the caring little bunny beside the Doctor with the sleekness of her combat uniform. The lace trim on the apron and the little red hearts on the cuffs are very delicately detailed. To recreate the character's lively and agile temperament, the wig layers were specifically trimmed, and the angles of the twin tails and blue hair accessories were repeatedly adjusted. During the photo session, the support structure for the bunny ears was also extremely stable, so there was no need to worry about deformation.
This shoot was mainly completed in the public areas of the exhibition hall, where the on-site lighting was quite complex, featuring both cool-colored spotlights from above and occasional warm-toned fill lights from passersby. The photographer is excellent at catching dynamic movements; snapshots like the looking-back glance in the first photo and the sitting poses in the subsequent ones all utilized a large aperture to blur the crowds in the background. This highlighted the subject while preserving the lively atmosphere of the convention. For the action sets sitting on the floor, a white plush blanket was specially prepared, which not only made the composition cleaner but also matched the soft undertones of the maid outfit. The packaging bag prop held in my hand added a nice touch of daily life.
Actually, every time I cosplay Amiya, the most effort goes into managing my gaze and facial expressions. This character is naturally introverted yet firm, so when taking photos, I pay attention to relaxing the angle of my chin and slightly tucking in my jawline to make my eyes look more focused. For the makeup, light blue contact lenses were paired with pinkish-orange eyeshadow to make the overall color palette echo the clothes, and a natural milk tea shade was chosen for the lips so it wouldn't steal the spotlight. This set of photos has basically no over-editing, preserving the skin texture and the fabric weave of the costume, which I believe is where the true vitality of cosplay photography lies. Although walking around all day at the convention was exhausting, every time I look at these frozen moments, I feel that all the preparation was completely worth it.
