The theme for this shoot is the Milky Bunny styling from the collaboration between Amiya and White Rabbit creamy candy. To faithfully recreate that soft, cute, and healing feel, I put a lot of thought into the preparation of costumes and props. This blue-and-white dress features fabric with a delicate grid texture, embellished with red cross-star patterns. The neckline, cuffs, and skirt hem are sewn with multiple layers of white lace trim, paired with a petticoat inside to make the skirt's curvature look more three-dimensional and voluminous. To match the character's hairstyle, I wore a brownish-orange twin-tail wig accented with blue bows, matched with blue-gray contact lenses.
To highlight the White Rabbit theme, I prepared a pair of huge, fluffy realistic bunny ears to wear on my head and found a transparent glass jar as a prop, cradling it in my arms or holding it in hand as if it were truly filled with milk candy. For the lower body, I chose white tights and white short socks, wearing black glossy Mary Janes on my feet. When sitting on the wooden cabin steps, the crossed-legs posture just happened to showcase the leg lines and the texture of White stockings; combined with the wooden floor and folding chair, the overall vibe appeared well-behaved and quiet.
From concept to set dressing, this entire shoot was personally done by myself. The location was chosen at a realistic wooden cabin studio, and the sunlight on that day was fantastic. I intentionally utilized the warm rim light shining in from the doorway; the halo cast over the subject's contours and hair created a dreamy, fairy-tale atmosphere. To enrich the frame's color palette, I placed a woven basket filled with sunflowers in the lower left corner and a basket of pink flowers in the lower right corner. The bright yellow of the sunflowers formed a vivid color contrast with the pink flowers, which, along with the green vines hanging on the wall and the bunny plush holding a carrot, gave the frame an even richer sense of storytelling.
The shooting process truly tested patience. To capture the moment when light pierced through the glass jar and hair strands, I constantly had to adjust my angle facing the light source. Although sitting on the wooden floor was a bit hard on the body, it was completely worthwhile for the sake of the composition and the visual effect of the White stockings paired with Mary Janes. The easel hanging on the wall and the sheer curtains fluttering in the breeze served as wonderful background accents.
I've always believed that completing high-quality cosplay isn't just about wearing the costume and wig neatly, but more importantly about grasping the atmosphere of the character under that specific look. Amiya's collaboration styling is inherently full of fairy-tale charm, so in terms of expression and movement, I also tried to show a relaxed, sweet state. The blue-and-white palette looked exceptionally clean and pure in the warm yellow environment. Looking at the finished photos on the camera, from the transition of light and shadow to the placement of props, everything met my expected standards; bringing the character to reality like this brings a genuine sense of accomplishment. I hope this set of Milky Bunny photos can deliver that sense of sweetness and comfort to everyone.
