Putting on this Fluffy Little Witch dress and wig, I immediately got into character. This shoot was chosen to take place outdoors in front of a green lawn and old red-brick buildings. Some retro industrial elements can also be seen in the background, such as a rusted iron carriage, which beautifully fits Arknights' unique atmosphere that blends modern, wasteland, and fairytale elements.
Let's first talk about the details of this outfit. The pink wig was styled into twin-tails and plaited braids. To add a fuzzy feeling, I specially made the hair ends fluffier, echoing perfectly with the theme of "Fluffy". The headpiece is a black wide-brimmed top hat, with a ring of white fluffy trim around the brim, and lined with a pink and white striped bowknot as an embellishment. It's very lightweight, fits securely on the head, and there's no need to worry about it being blown away by the wind. The top is a white and pink patchwork with small black and blue bowties at the neckline, and the sleeves are treated as lantern sleeves, gathered at the cuffs with exquisite black gloves and ruffles. The black leather straps at the waist are very solid, and the metal buckle carries a hint of retro mecha style, neatly dividing the proportions of the upper and lower body.
The skirt hem has many layers; the main tone of the outer layer is light pink, stitched with black wavy edges, and also draped with several thin blue ribbons. When moving around, the skirt hem and ribbons flutter with the wind, looking highly agile. The lower body is paired with opaque black leggings and a pair of color-blocked pink platform boots. The unique feature of the boots lies in the blue lace-up design at the boot shaft, crossing layer by layer, which gives both a sense of restraint and a touch of cuteness, while the golden toe caps enrich the texture of the overall look.
The most eye-catching prop is bound to be this parasol. Its color scheme is completely identical to the costume. When opened in Image 1, the inner side is bright pink, but the edge of the canopy features exquisite white lace trim spreading out like petals, making it highly conspicuous. When closed in Image 2, the texture of the black canopy's exterior is revealed, making for a classic clash of black, white, and pink colors.
To capture the ideal dynamic effect, we tried many times in Image 1. Because the grassy slope has a certain incline, I needed to stand firmly on one foot while stretching my body and the umbrella outward as much as possible, creating an illusion of leaping lightly. The photographer's timing for the candid capture was excellent, catching the moment the skirt flew up and the ribbons fluttered. Image 2 offers a different mood; during a shooting break, I simply sat down next to the abandoned carriage, turning slightly sideways and propping up the umbrella on the grass like a walking stick to relax my posture, which better embodies the quiet yet playful nature of the little witch.
For makeup, to stay consistent with this pink and tender color scheme, the eyeshadow selected was a warmer orange-pink palette, deepening the eye contour while retaining transparency. The blush was applied quite lightly, and the lip color is a natural pinkish bean-paste shade. The light on the day of the shoot was very soft; the sunlight hitting the face at an angle not only avoided harsh shadows but instead made the fuzzy texture of the wig and clothing more apparent. The benefit of this daily-oriented outdoor shoot is the natural lighting, but it also heavily tests the ability to find angles and avoid cluttered backgrounds. I am highly satisfied with the overall presented result, beautifully blending the sweetness of the Fluffy Little Witch with the signature resilience of Arknights characters in this cosplay photography work.
