This time I'm sharing a Momoka Hanyuu cosplay set from Arknights, shot on-site at this anime convention. The sunlight was wonderful, hitting the wig to make its color look richer and making this vibrant orange stand out remarkably before the lens.
First, let's talk about the overall styling. For the outer garment, I chose a stylish brownish-pink pinstriped loose coat draped halfway over my shoulders, which handled the cold air conditioning inside the convention hall while creating a lazy, casual ambiance. Inside was an orange-brown plaid camisole top, anchored by a large red bow tie at the collar as a finishing touch that broke the monotony of plaid while echoing strongly with the huge pink bow hair ornament on my head for rich layering. The innermost collar featured white ruffle trim, accompanied by a narrow black choker with dangling small pearls—layering these intricate details added refinement and agility to this sweet ensemble.
Because of the elf character setting, makeup was specifically tailored to fit. Warm orange-brown tones were used for eye makeup paired with deep pinkish-purple contact lenses, making my gaze look innocent and clear while adding an otherworldly fantasy touch for this Elf ears cosplay. The wig featured an orange gradient palette, with hair ends styled into natural outward flips, which, paired with airy bangs, faithfully reproduced the character's vibrant yet charmingly dazed personality. To keep makeup clean, a matte base was used with subtle highlighting across the center face to accentuate facial dimensionality.
The lighting on the day of the shoot was fantastic. Sunlight filtering through the venue skylight rendered hair strands translucent while casting clear dappled light on the floor. Although people came and went in the background and the convention environment was inevitably crowded, this genuine light-shadow interplay infused the photos with vibrant convention energy. The photographer skillfully used a wide aperture, blurring background crowds and booths into colorful bokeh spots, leaving full focal attention on facial expressions and outfits for great Convention photography ambiance.
When posing, I aimed to convey Momoka Hanyuu's distinct temperament—neither overly forced nor unnatural, yet carrying a girl's unique tsundere charm and playfulness. Resting my chin on one hand while looking at the camera, or freeze-framing the moment of holding my bag, were natural interactions with the lens, hoping viewers feel a relaxed, joyful sense of presence.
Characters in Arknights each possess unique charm, and Momoka Hanyuu's daily feel fuses closely with her character concept. This look leaned toward lightweight Casual cosplay; although the big bow and elf ears were somewhat exaggerated, pairing them with plaid patterns and a coat placed in everyday streets or venue exteriors could yield a unique lifestyle feel. In an atmosphere filled with fellow fans' enthusiasm, wearing this outfit under the sun naturally allowed a relaxed state to flow, which is one of the true joys cosplay brings me.
Of course, every shoot comes with minor regrets—such as needing constant adjustments to keep the coat draping nicely, or the wig occasionally tangling while walking around. Yet that is precisely the charm of on-site shooting, as every freeze-frame records the state of that exact moment. A lot of thought went into hair and makeup, especially fitting the elf ears onto my face—adjusting base makeup shades multiple times to match skin tones and reduce seam lines.
I hope this set of photos allows everyone to see a vivid Momoka Hanyuu. Her character from Arknights, bathed in the warm light of late summer and early autumn in reality, creates a deeply healing combination. That wraps up this sharing—mainly documenting the convention's light and shadows alongside this carefully coordinated outfit, hoping to bring you a refreshed visual experience.
