I picked an early morning to scout the newly opened British Library Exhibition in Chongqing. Having envied the vintage aesthetic of photos taken in Wuhan before, I finally got the opportunity to snag closed-beta access and bring this character concept for an actual shoot. The exhibition hall's layout is genuinely layered, far beyond merely setting up bookshelves; elements like carved wooden chairs, classical pianos, and solid wood cabinets with brass hardware exude a strong British charm. The visual pairing of wood textures with white and gold elements is remarkably pleasing and timeless.

My choice for this shoot was a vintage black dress with gold trim. The material's drape is excellent, and when paired with a white fold-over collar, a red knot at the neckline, white tights, and black leather shoes on the lower body, the overall look fits Eden Academy's setting in SPY×FAMILY exceptionally well. During the actual shoot, I didn't deliberately strike overly dramatic poses. In a setting steeped in rich historical ambiance, staying still actually better conveys the character's gap-moe charm for this Anya cosplay.

Take the shots where I sit at the wooden table hugging a plush toy: the table's wood grain and the black-and-gold skirt hem complement each other, with legs naturally extended to highlight the smooth texture of the white tights, while the colorful little plush doll beside me instantly brings vibrant color tension into the frame. The lighting on set was also delightfully comfortable, relying mainly on ambient and diffuse reflections off the tabletop rather than overexposed or harsh top lighting, allowing pink short hair and sea-green eye makeup to naturally blend into the ambient shadows for this Portrait photography session.

Personally, I really love the framing at the piano-key floor section. Although they are flat perspective lines, simply standing on them or using dynamic body gestures—along with sheet music and plush toys as foreground elements—makes the image's sense of depth strikingly vivid, enlivening the overall atmosphere and breaking any stiff, staged feel. Standing in front of the glass-doored bookcase lined with locked, colorful hardcover books on both sides, simply holding and flipping through a red leather-bound book instantly maxes out the elite academy aesthetic for this Chongqing cosplay photoshoot.

What makes Anya's character in SPY×FAMILY so endearing, beyond her adorable appearance, is that subtle mix of innocence and sly mischief in every action. Restoring her daily life inside a genuinely vintage space easily breaks through the limitations of 2D images, rendering the character far more three-dimensional. To ensure natural final shots, with the right costume and matching location, the rest boils down to controlling light and shadow. Most of this shoot was completed in low light; the camera sensor's dynamic range easily handled this ambient light, requiring only minor skin tone calibrations and rim light adjustments in post-processing to achieve a cinematic finish. Complemented by props like the red book and plush toy, the entire set feels complete and cohesive.
