Sakura Empire's Bai Feng—today's anime convention photos are finally ready! This photoshoot was captured on-site by photographer Pulao411. The venue lighting that day was quite typical—overhead convention lights mixed with complex ambient light—but thanks to the photographer's excellent speedlight control, the texture of Bai Feng's black-and-white outfit was presented perfectly.
Speaking of this outfit, I wore this full makeup and look for quite a long time at the convention. The highlight of this costume lies entirely in its structural design, especially the two extremely wide sleeves featuring irregular, feather-like shredded cuffs. When taking dynamic poses—like standing on one leg with both arms spread wide—the sleeves flare out naturally, instantly creating a light yet imposing presence.
For makeup, to stay close to Bai Feng's design, I wore striking yellow contact lenses and specially emphasized pinkish-orange smudging with upturned eyeliner. Combined with the pure white wig, the overall character recognition stood out under the lights. The white tights were also a key part of this look. An all-white outfit can easily look unflattering, so we paid special attention to cut and fitting to keep the silhouette sleek under the white tights.
There was a little episode during the shoot: because the convention venue was crowded, moving around in a costume with such wide sleeves wasn't easy. The sleeves kept catching on backpacks or props of passersby, so stepping and positioning required extra care. Fortunately, Pulao-laoshi's snapshots were precise, preserving the best state during movement pauses. We looked for light in subtle venue corners, where ambient lights from neighboring booths hit the white tights to create highlights, unexpectedly adding dimensional definition to my leg lines—that's precisely the vibrant charm unique to convention photos.
The overall color scheme is pure white with black trim, a minimalist palette that easily stands out against cluttered convention backgrounds. The black collar trim and the metallic pendant on the large waist bow add a touch of refinement, staying true to the character's original design language while providing a perfect visual accent. As a Sakura Empire character, Bai Feng possesses a unique aura combining traditional garment elements with an aircraft carrier theme, requiring my posing to balance elegance with strength rather than pure cuteness.
After the shoot, the classic dialogue from the original post immediately came to mind. As convention photos focused on restoring character temperament, I feel this set achieved the atmosphere I wanted. The crowds and clutter of the convention turned into a backdrop that pushed the subject forward. Posing in front of the lens with wide sleeves and a white plush carpet at my feet created an aura standing isolated from the noisy crowd. Compared to full studio lighting, I personally prefer these portrait photography shots with genuine convention vibes—they leave a deeper memory. All the costume details were clearly shown, from the choker to the waist chain accessories and sleeve trim, coming together as the Sakura Empire Bai Feng in my heart. Thanks to the photographer for patient guidance, and to myself for holding up through a half-day of styling—getting satisfying photos is the greatest reward today.
