[Barbara Cosplay] Genshin Impact Hydro Girl's Summer Freeze-Frame

This time in Hangzhou I went as Barbara from Genshin Impact, and the outfit chosen was a relatively refreshing blue-and-white sailor style. The weather on the shooting day was genuinely great, with exceptionally clear outdoor light and sunlight spilling over the stone steps and lake surface. Paired with the blue-and-white color scheme and orange bowknot of this outfit, it was visually very clean and bright.

Honestly speaking, the shoes for this look were quite challenging. The platform transparent sandals with flower decorations, though making the legs look very slender, still tested one's center of gravity when stepping on outdoor stone steps. To find the most relaxed and natural state during the shoot, we walked back and forth along the stone steps and lakeside quite a few times. The yellow duck pendant was a highly important small prop for this look; when interacting with it, many candidly captured movements instead appeared much more vivid.

The outfit has a lot of details, such as separate oversleeves, blue-and-white stripes at the collar, and lace accents on the skirt hem, which I spent a long time organizing before heading out. The blonde wig was also specifically styled into wavy curls, which, combined with the white flower hair accessory, beautifully fits the character's fresh and pure vibe. During the shoot, Mr. Nanzhu was extremely patient, constantly searching for the best angles. Especially for the few low-angle shots, they could stretch the proportion of the sky and the person immensely, making the atmosphere on site very relaxed.

Actually, the thing feared most in outdoor cosplays is unstable weather, but luck was on our side this time. The blue sky and white clouds, complemented by the lake and mountain scenery, yielded a very bright effect straight out of the camera without needing much post-processing color grading. The breeze by the water blew over from time to time, making the skirt hem and wig flutter slightly, which was exactly the dynamic feel I wanted. Because the outfit itself is a shorter Summer cosplay style, when sitting or crouching on the stone steps for composition, the leg lines and shoe details could be better displayed.

However, there were also minor regrets, namely that the shooting time was relatively tight, so we couldn't shoot more sets of walking behind-the-scenes clips by the lake. But overall, this time restored the character's refreshing feel quite well. This outfit is incredibly photogenic; the orange-yellow palette colliding with the blue is exceptionally energetic. If many fellow fans also plan to debut this outfit, I highly recommend choosing a perfectly sunny day, as the bonus effect of light on the sailor suit style is truly massive. Even with a filter-free direct export, the skin tone will look very transparent and bright.
