Planning the shoot for this New Year Paimon look focused on blending the festive New Year atmosphere with the character's own playful cuteness. Although the original character from Genshin Impact is a floating guide image, this time we designed cat ears and a small tail with astrolabe elements, combined with a red New Year coat and white plush trim, hoping to bring everyone a fresh feeling different from the usual. To recreate this special costume with a festive atmosphere, we put a lot of thought into the fluffiness of the fur collar and cuffs, selecting a filling material with better support.

During the shoot, we chose a solid color background to highlight the person and the props. The first sitting composition with the gold ingot aims to convey a rounded, blessed fortune like a 'God of Wealth'; while the second and third single-leg standing actions are meant to showcase Paimon's light, gravity-defying agility, paired with the 'Mora' prop or sugar-coated haws in hand to keep the frame from looking stiff. The fourth posture, sitting on the base eating sugar-coated haws, perfectly captures the character's relaxed state with a slightly gluttonous attribute.

In terms of recreating the handcrafted props, the gold ingots and red blessing scrolls underwent different texture treatments to prevent over-reflection from affecting the photo quality, while also preserving the traditional red and gold color scheme of the Spring Festival. As for the makeup, the focus was on magnifying the pupils' color brilliance and increasing the facial flush, making the white-haired character look more vibrant and not pale. After communicating with the photographer, we adopted a lighting method of high backlighting combined with front soft light, which not only makes the white wig look more translucent but also makes the velvet details of the red coat much clearer.

Looking back at this complete set of photos, although I sweated a lot under the white wig and headpiece, the final result in such a relaxed and cute atmosphere is very satisfying. I hope everyone can be as carefree as Paimon in the 2D world in the new year, always accompanied by good luck.
