When shooting Bai Feng from Azur Lane, we spent quite a long time studying the wooden latticework and moon-phase background in the studio. I wanted to recreate that atmosphere where clear moonlight reflects off classical wooden window grilles, so I communicated extensively with the photographer regarding composition and lighting.
First, let's talk about the overall styling. Long, straight silver-white hair is the character's core signature; the wig has a silky texture that, paired with iconic tassel earrings and golden contact lenses, immediately locked in the right gaze. For the costume, I chose an off-the-shoulder design in white chiffon with black patterns, featuring a black-and-gold corset structure across the chest. This cool black, white, and grey palette actually tests studio lighting considerably. To highlight the Sakura Empire's distinct style where elegance coexists with combat prowess, I paired it with white pantyhose in a White stockings cosplay look; this high-key pure white color creates a striking visual contrast against the classical wooden background, looking clean yet delicately cool and aloof.
During the shoot, we utilized a set with circular windows, an artificial moon, and translucent white drapes hanging alongside. The photographer used a white paper umbrella and wooden grilles as foreground framing elements to give the image spatial depth. Later shots incorporated withered branches and handwritten calligraphy scrolls, striving to recreate an elegant, incense-scented mood. Because of the off-the-shoulder cut and long white wig, movements couldn't be too dramatic, so I maintained an upright, poised posture. Sitting on the wooden daybed adjusting the skirt hem or tilting slightly to look upward allowed us to capture that calm, composed expression effortlessly.

As an aircraft carrier of the Sakura Empire whose airstrike barrages pierce the night like shooting stars, I hoped to convey that contrast of possessing immense firepower while maintaining serene elegance through cool demeanor and graceful body language. Shooting between takes was physically demanding, but the final atmosphere truly matched the essence of Ancient style photography.
Regarding the outfit and props, the airy flow of white chiffon contrasted beautifully with the rustic wooden textures. To make the frames more translucent, we used softboxes to generate expansive highlights simulating moonlight; when the foreground tulle caught the light, the entire composition turned dreamlike. This set represents a harmonious fusion of traditional oriental aesthetics and anime visual language in Anime cosplay, relying on framing and camera angles rather than heavy digital effects to channel the character's spirit.
