For this shoot, I chose Kashino, affectionately known to everyone as the "cow" in Azur Lane. The overall styling blends traditional Japanese-style maid aesthetics: a white apron paired with a black pleated skirt, red trimming, and Black stockings cosplay, creating sharp visual contrast and rich layering. The draped furisode kimono sleeves feature subtle woven patterns which, paired with the bovine horns and maid headband, convey both traditional Japanese gentleness and the character's signature voluptuous charm.
The shooting location was deliberately set in a traditional Japanese tatami room. Wooden lattice sliding doors combined with warm paper floor lanterns created an exquisite ambiance as light diffused across the tatami mats. During the shoot, the photographer and I coordinated our compositional vision: the first standing pose was primarily to display the front and side silhouettes of the costume, while the second pose lifting one leg was designed to accentuate the texture of the black stockings and the curves of the leg. This actually demanded strong core and balance control; although holding this pose was quite tiring, it was well worth it to capture that airy yet dynamic visual tension.
To complement the character setting, I prepared a calligraphy brush and a folding art book as props. Paired with a slightly upward, lingering gaze toward the lens, I aimed to convey the shipgirl's subtly languid and teasingly sensual aura. In post-processing, we mainly adjusted the proportion of warm tones to make the skin look luminous and translucent while preserving shadow details in the background, aiming for lighting that resonates with the rich, soft, and substantial presence of the character.
This Kashino Cosplay photoshoot was a thoroughly enjoyable Anime cosplay experience. The costume details and props performed beyond expectations before the lens. Experimenting with different movements and facial expressions in the studio deepened my grasp of character interpretation and overall visual framing, and I am extremely thrilled with the final results.
