[Youmu Konpaku cosplay] Half-Phantom Gardener in Touhou Project: Green and White Outfit Paired with Sword Props

Restoring Youmu Konpaku cosplay from Touhou Project outdoors turns out wonderfully well when light and shadow coordinate properly.

The green and white outfit chosen this time features a cross-collar neck design, green geometric diamond patterns on the upper body, and wide pure-white kimono sleeves attached. The hem's green background with subtle bamboo leaf motifs and multi-tiered ruffles exhibits Japanese elegance while maintaining maidenly charm. Paired with a pure white wide obi, it visually flatters the waistline nicely.

The wig is specially trimmed silver-white short hair; straight bangs frame the face nicely, and the black lace bow clipped to the side adds a cute touch to the cool white hair, blending seamlessly with the overall styling.

The tachi sword in hand is also Youmu's signature weapon; the black diamond cord wrapping on the hilt has great texture, and the golden tsuba paired with the black-and-red patterned scabbard features pink tassels. These Sword props details received meticulous attention and feel pleasantly substantial in hand. During shooting, I kept hand gestures as relaxed as possible to avoid appearing stiff while holding the blade, and the photographer's composition captured the interaction between the sword and character perfectly.

The outdoor location was set in a dense forest; sunlight that day filtered through leaves to create beautiful light spots on dirt and fallen leaves. Rough tree bark textures formed a sharp contrast with the soft fabric texture. Whether leaning against rough branches or standing full-length holding the sword in this Outdoor forest, blending character with scenery worked out wonderfully in this Anime cosplay shoot.

Makeup was kept relatively clean, focusing on eye makeup contours paired with light-colored contact lenses, while lip color was chosen in natural, soft tones so it wouldn't clash with silver-white hair. Although outdoor shoots are hard work—requiring constant position adjustments to catch light—seeing the layered sunlight and Japanese clothing texture in final images made it completely worth it.

Post-processing avoided stacking excessive filters, preserving skin texture and prop sharpness while enhancing green-white contrasts and natural light-shadow clarity, giving the image a serene forest ambiance. This was a truly immersive experience; wearing this outfit and holding the sword allowed me to better embody the character setting and feel realism beyond official illustrations.
