The theme for this photoshoot was Alice's wedding. For styling, we prepared a pure white lace dress paired with cascading wavy pink hair and plush bunny ears, leaning into a dreamy, sweet, and adorable aesthetic. Makeup emphasized a luminous, sheer base combined with pinkish-purple colored contacts, complementing the outfit's pale palette for a softer visual impression.
The wardrobe is brimming with fine details: sheer tulle cutouts and ruby accents across the bust, layered ruffles and lace trims cascading along the skirt, and a petticoat underneath to sustain its voluminous flare. Detached white lace opera sleeves adorned the arms, while the lower half featured white stockings suspended by garter straps, finished with white high heels. The pink lace trim encircling the shoe collars provided a subtle, lovely contrast against the monochrome base, keeping the look dynamic.
Set dressing took considerable thought. The backdrop showcased white lattice windows, crystal chandeliers, and cascading drapery, surrounded by abundant faux florals in purple, blue, and yellow to build rich visual layers. A white European wrought-iron bench served as the seat, dressed with an internally illuminated prop book and an antique lantern nearby, instantly maxing out the fairytale ambiance. During shooting, I guided the model through delicate hand placements—such as gently touching the bunny ears or crossing her legs softly—to best accentuate the skirt tiers and leg contours. In particular, reclining along the iron bench visually elongated proportions for an elegant silhouette.
Gear-wise, we used a Sony A7R3 paired with the 24-70mm F2.8 GM II. The raw captures were slightly bright overall; during Lightroom grading, I balanced exposure by pulling down highlights and lifting shadows slightly to retain dark fabric folds on the dress. Contrast and saturation were boosted modestly. The tone curve was dialed into an inverse-S curve to make bright areas pop while grounding the darks, enhancing dimensional depth. In the HSL mixer, orange and magenta were fine-tuned by raising luminance and lowering saturation, yielding a porcelain, translucent skin tone and softening the pink hair. Adjusting red hue and blue saturation made the background flowers vibrant without turning harsh. Finally, separate masks were created for the subject and background to balance facial and arm contours while making the subject pop cleanly.
Overall, we strove for exquisite precision across lighting, framing, and color grading throughout this session, hoping to deliver the delicate beauty expected of high-end anime girl photography.
