This photoshoot centered on a Firefly fanart concept, revolving around a Garden fairy theme with an aqua-blue and white color palette. The bodice of the outfit was crafted from a structured, lustrous material that beautifully contours the figure, while the golden butterfly and chain embellishments on the chest added delicate detail. The skirt featured layered pearlescent tulle, creating a rippling, dreamy water-like effect under the lights. The translucent iridescent wings on my back were custom-made—very lightweight, though requiring careful positioning to avoid snagging on the metal wires of the hanging chair.
For the styling, I wore long silver-white hair with soft green highlights, paired with blue-violet colored contacts and a forehead ribbon bow. The makeup featured soft pink eyeshadow and lip gloss to accentuate a cool, innocent elven temperament. Combined with thigh-high White stockings and heels, the black straps around the thighs added a subtle touch of rebellion to the attire.
The shoot took place in a white birdcage hanging chair surrounded by a profusion of faux flowers. While seated inside, I deliberately extended my legs toward the edge of the frame to elongate the leg lines, which, paired with the White stockings and heels, gave a wonderful sense of visual extension. The set with the red curtain backdrop offered a distinct mood—the deep red and aqua blue created a bold contrast that made skin tones and fabric textures pop.
To capture the curves and contours, I adjusted my seating posture numerous times on set, such as angling the torso slightly or resting straightened legs lightly on the chair rim. The series looking into the mirror in profile was particularly challenging, as it required ensuring the reflection looked flattering while dialing in the exact angle of the glance back. Because the skirt was so voluminous, sitting down meant painstakingly rearranging the petticoat each time to avoid crushing the pleats.
Lighting this look also required careful calculation: frontal key lighting was essential to make the pearlescent tulle and White stockings gleam. All in all, it was a joyful yet demanding experience, and meticulous attention to detail on set gave the final images great depth and texture.
