The True Love Blue support color at Jing'an Joy City, combined with this kitty-themed Rem styling, forms the core visual focus of this photoshoot. Throughout Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, Rem's signature blue has always carried a distinct allure. Rather than choosing her conventional maid attire, I opted for this blue-and-white lace cat dress this time. The wig was carefully trimmed into a bob with blunt bangs and paired with bright blue colored contacts. To accentuate a translucent 2D aesthetic, the eye makeup was deepened with blended pink tones, complemented by a broad sweep of soft pink blush to lend the facial expression a gentler, more youthful sweetness.
Looking at garment details, the detached flare sleeves are crafted entirely from semi-sheer white lace and airy tulle, creating rich layers with every step. The yellow bell and blue ribbon at the neckline serve as delightful accents, while the fluffy cat-ear headband and the long, voluminous tail trailing behind inject an extra touch of playfulness. Harmonizing with the outfit's ethereal lightness, the lower half is styled with over-the-knee White stockings trimmed with delicate lace borders at the cuffs, finished with pastel blue Mary Jane shoes. During shooting, because the transition between stockings and skirt involved dense lace, careful arrangement was needed to keep the edges crisp and clean on camera.
Lighting on the day of the shoot mainly relied on cool tones. The backdrop featured clean light-blue walls and sliding doors with circular windows; these minimalist colors accentuated the texture of the hair and dress impeccably. For posing, I explored diverse interactions. Quiet poses—like resting crossed hands over my chest or gently leaning against the doorframe—highlighted the drape of the skirt and the flowing grace of the sleeves. In livelier frames, lifting one leg while flashing a peace sign or curling hands into cat paws made the character feel vibrant and dynamic. When raising hands, the flared sleeves tended to obscure the face, requiring close attention to arm height and angles.
To me, this True Love Blue support shade isn't merely a color, but an emotional anchor fans share for the character. Seeing that expanse of blue at conventions or shopping malls evokes an immense sense of shared resonance. The lace and tail of this kitty look required continuous tweaking during the shoot—especially the tail's curled arc, which relied on internal wire framing to hold its shape and needed re-sculpting after hours of shooting.
Reflecting on the entire shoot, while the outfit was intricate and demanding, the visual depth it delivered before the lens made every effort completely worthwhile. Blue doesn't have to mean melancholy; it can also brim with vitality and soothing healing power, just like this True Love Blue. This set is my brand-new take on kitty Rem, and I hope everyone enjoys this style.
