[Yakushi Saya cosplay] Daily life of a mouse in Blue Archive

This Yakushi Saya cosplay costume, paired with the blue sky and glass curtain wall at Guangzhou Baonly, delivered a perfectly refreshing feel. Ever since I first decided to cosplay this character, I was filled with anticipation for this blue-and-white ensemble.

First, let's discuss the garment structure. The inner outfit is a light blue sleeveless mini-dress inspired by a modified cheongsam design. Pink piping decorates the neckline, and a pink ring cutout ornament sits higher on the chest, small details that effectively soften the distance created by cool blue tones. Side slits on the skirt hem reveal black safety shorts worn underneath, allowing easy, unconstrained movement among convention crowds.

The outer white wide-sleeve jacket serves as the soul of the entire look. Its oversized sleeve cuffs create a dramatic, floating motion when walking. Pale pink and light blue paneling accents the inner sleeve cuffs and jacket hem, a transition that gives the pure white jacket rich layering rather than a plain appearance. To align with the character's casual demeanor in this Haruhi cosplay, I created an asymmetrical look for the legs. The left leg features a white over-the-knee sock decorated with a small yellow star ornament near the top, while the right leg remains bare, paired with white platform sneakers featuring pink stripes. This combination of a glamorous top and casual bottom makes the overall look feel both anime-styled and lightly sporty.

The headpiece section is intricate yet acts as the finishing touch. Overhead sits a light blue translucent hollow halo infused with a sci-fi touch. Below it are two white round animal ear accessories tilted slightly, working alongside a massive light blue bow and a small yellow square tag hanging beside it to faithfully capture the character's mouse-like traits. The long white wig has a lovely sheen, reflecting silver textures under sunlight, while sideburns on both sides frame the face shape perfectly. For makeup, I opted for a clean, translucent base accented with light pink eyeshadow and red contact lenses, adjusting my demeanor to feel gentle and quiet.

The shooting location was the outdoor area of Guangzhou Baonly on a very clear day, where blue skies and white clouds reflected off glass curtain walls to create a fantastic backdrop. The photographer carefully captured images across various focal lengths. The first half-body close-up tested my balance with headpiece weight distribution; since the halo and bow were front-heavy, maintaining an upright posture without looking stiff required keeping my neck and shoulder lines relaxed. The second and third photos focused on full-body proportions. Since the oversized jacket can easily obscure body contours, I deliberately accentuated the visual contrast between the coat and inner outfit during posing, using leg lifts and subtle knee bends to highlight the asymmetrical sock and sneakers. The fourth candid shot near greenery shifted to a new scene, where sunlight filtering through leaves softened the blue fabric's sheen under natural light and gave garment edge reflections a rich texture.

Attending the offline convention was a delightful experience. Meeting several friends at the venue who recognized the character allowed us to exchange ideas on costume and prop crafting. Wearing this gear was physically demanding—the wig and headpieces felt stuffy after extended outdoor exposure, and the heavy jacket required constant sleeve adjustments to prevent creasing. Seeing the final Convention photos, however, made all preparation worthwhile. The atmosphere at Guangzhou Baonly was wonderful, and presenting complete costume, makeup, and prop work at an offline event brought immense fulfillment. Sharing these four photos for now captures states across different settings, and I will continue refining every detail for future shoots of this Blue Archive character.
