[Kasugano Sora Cosplay] A Record of Pairing a Modernized Guofeng Cheongsam with White Thigh-Highs and High Heels

The styling for this shoot is primarily based on a Modernized Guofeng Cheongsam. The top choice is a sleeveless style made of white satin fabric, printed with black ink-wash brushstroke textures. The neckline design features a modernized, simplified approach, retaining the traditional straight frog button elements while introducing a teardrop-shaped cutout design at the chest. This subtle detail breaks the monotony of traditional cheongsams while adding a touch of playfulness and sexiness. The lower body is paired with high-waisted black safety shorts, echoing the black textures of the top.

The wig styling features long, straight white hair, accentuated on both sides with symmetrical black-based hair accessories. These hair ornaments bear subtle white patterns and trail down long black silk ribbons. This hairstyle combines distinct anime-specific traits, and the contrasting colors of the hair accessories perfectly match the overall black-and-white color palette of the clothing, creating a highly harmonious visual effect.

For the choice of footwear and socks, I deliberately paired white over-knee stockings with black patent leather high heels. The edge of the white stockings features a white elastic band design that sits right above the knee. The high heels are a sleek, ultra-thin stiletto style in glossy black patent leather, with a distinctive pop of red at the bottom of the heels. While such a detail might not be prominent in daily wear, it becomes an excellent highlighting point under studio lighting, making the leg lines appear much more slender.

In terms of props, we prepared a plain wood-ribbed folding fan and a small black teacup. The folding fan is kept just half-open, which holds a traditional Guofeng scholarly elegance in hand while handily assisting with hand poses during the shoot. The small teacup appears in the first sitting photo, generating a relaxed atmosphere as if savoring tea in a tea room.

The shooting venue was a washitsu (Japanese-style) room, with a classic wooden grid paper shoji door as the backdrop. This type of door offers exceptional light transmittance, filtering the light through the paper to make it incredibly soft and even. The flooring consists of light-colored solid wood planks, creating an excellent contrast in texture and color against the dark wooden door frames. In the foreground of the frame, some blurred pink flowers were arranged to add depth to the composition, matching the overall clear and sweet style.

The poses in these three photos actually follow a progression of emotions. The first photo features me sitting sideways on the floor, supporting myself with one hand while holding the teacup with the other, aiming to convey a casual and languid feeling. The second photo shifts into a crouching posture, holding the fan with both hands and leaning the body slightly forward; this perspective, combined with the white stockings, beautifully showcases the body's contoured lines and color contrast. The third photo selects a single-leg standing pose, a classic posture frequently used in Guofeng photography, relying on one leg to balance the body while the other leg is bent and raised. Combined with the folding fan, it gives an overall sense of dynamic lightness. This pose is actually quite a test for core strength during execution, but the final prints are indeed fantastic, freezing the dynamic tension in a locked moment.

Throughout the shooting process, the photographer, Xiao Chai, brilliantly captured the design highlights of this costume. When the light hit the white thigh-highs and patent leather high heels, the reflected luster looked phenomenal. The garments provided by the costume supplier, Nan Yu, were also highly well-fitting, especially in the handling of the folds, making the clothes appear very high-end rather than having a cheap anime cosplay look. For the makeup, it coupled red irises with a blush-emphasizing look, lending a touch of sweetness to the overall temperament beneath the cool white hair.

This set of looks was captured in a Changchun photoshoot booking, enjoying a high degree of atmospheric and environmental harmony. Personally, I feel that this type of modernized Guofeng anime cosplay styling actually sets higher requirements for figure and temperament than traditional attire, but I am quite satisfied with the overall effect presented this time. The tailoring of the costume clings well to the body shape without losing the lightness unique to anime characters, making a few lifestyle-oriented refinements while preserving character traits, which feels more like an attempt at cultural fusion.
