[Ushio Noa cosplay] Blue Archive Headcanon / Original setting: Languid Moments in Blue-and-White Lace and White Stockings

The photoshoot for this Blue Archive Ushio Noa Headcanon / Original setting is finally wrapped, so I'm sharing a teaser shot first.

This outfit is packed with intricate details, dominated by a light blue and white color scheme, with generous lace and ruffles adorning the shoulder straps, skirt hem, and waist ties. To match this original concept, the overhead halo prop was custom-made, with its luminous brightness calibrated repeatedly to ensure crisp contours without severe blowout even against bright window light. The top features a cropped midriff design, while the lower half pairs White stockings with detachable strapped leg garters. Smoothing the White stockings during shooting was critical to keep them completely wrinkle-free, and the garter straps required constant fine-tuning to cinch clean contours without looking constrictive—which drastically impacted the overall visual impression.

The location was set in a high-floor washroom, where marble countertops paired with vintage brass faucets lent a cool, sleek texture. Outside the window stretched Haikou's high-rise urban skyline, with natural light filtering softly through sheer white curtains. The photographer (@原po) went with a high-angle downward perspective that elongated the overall silhouette beautifully. Perching atop the vanity counter made finding leverage quite tricky; bracing with one hand to hold balance while extending one leg forward kept my core and leg muscles engaged the entire time.

In terms of mood, to channel Noa's slightly languid yet enigmatic presence, I adjusted the focal point of my gaze repeatedly. The blue contact lenses paired with the silver-grey wig looked remarkably translucent under the cool lighting. The wig needed continual combing between takes, as any stray frizz would instantly disrupt the polished aesthetic. The makeup was kept airy and clean, focusing primarily on defining eye contours.

For this Headcanon / Original setting, I incorporated some of my personal interpretations of the character—such as the lace wrist cuffs and waist ribbon ties—infusing a touch of sensuality into the cuteness. The weather in Haikou was already quite warm, and shooting indoors layered in multi-tiered lace meant spending substantial time touching up makeup and adjusting garments. Most of our dialogue with the photographer centered on lighting angles: White stockings easily blow out into chalky whites under harsh illumination, so we carefully controlled the lighting ratio to preserve shadow textures and give the frame rich dimensionality.

The final color grading leaned cool, consciously preserving skin texture in post-processing without excessive smoothing to achieve a clean, dewy aesthetic. The full photoshoot set is being actively retouched and will roll out gradually, so enjoy this teaser for now!
