The convention hall was bustling with excitement, overhead lights and camera flashes intertwining as I sat on a black hardshell suitcase dressed in this black-and-white Cheshire Maid outfit, adjusting the White stockings on my legs and getting ready to begin today's Convention photos shoot.

This Maid outfit has so many intricate details. The high-contrast black-and-white design can easily overexpose under harsh lights, placing high demands on capturing on-site lighting. The top's low-cut white ruffled collar paired with a black bow, plus the black lace choker and cross pendant at the collarbone, brings both maid-like gentleness and a touch of subtle allure. The turquoise highlights on the wig require meticulous styling; the twintails must be tied with enough volume, and the slight curl at the ends perfectly frames the face. Detached black puff sleeves with white lace cuffs allow for unrestricted arm movement.

The shooting environment at the convention floor was truly a test. The background was filled with passersby coming and going; the photographer used a wide aperture to blur the background as much as possible, which, complemented by the venue's bright spotlights, created a cool, glamorous texture. The props were thoroughly prepared this time: a bright yellow plush toy and this black hardshell suitcase served as exceptional interactive props. Holding the doll, placing it on the suitcase, or even setting it on a silver tray instantly brought vivid interactivity to the frame.

To showcase the characteristics of this outfit and character, I experimented with several different poses. Sitting on the suitcase required keeping my back straight, utilizing the suitcase's height to elongate my leg lines. The pairing of White stockings and black Mary Janes is utterly classic; the crisscross strap design across the instep not only makes ankles look slender, but also adds a touch of vintage refinement. When kneeling, I spread out the black-and-white pleated skirt hem as wide as possible, letting white lace edges and black lining interweave to highlight the fabric details. While standing, I tried lifting one leg to complement the plushie in hand, adding dynamic playfulness to the frame.

In Convention photos, state of mind and interactivity are paramount. When holding the plush doll, the gaze can carry more tsundere flair and lively wit—tilting the head slightly upward or gazing directly into the camera can evoke distinct emotions. Never fear the lens; immerse yourself fully into character, and the candid moments captured by the photographer will be the most natural. Since the venue's overhead lighting was complex, I deliberately coordinated with the photographer to find a rim/side-backlit position. This not only allowed the gray hair strands to catch rim light, but also gave the White stockings richer layers of light and shadow. The glossy black leather shoes also reflected brilliantly under strong lighting, elevating the overall texture significantly.

Toward the end, stamina consumption was genuinely high; the heavy lace of this outfit in a relatively stuffy environment truly tested my endurance. Every pose adjustment, smoothing of the skirt, and recombing of the wig demanded immense patience. Yet seeing every crisp shot on the camera screen and the flawless interplay of light and shadow on the black-and-white Maid outfit made the hours shuttling through the exhibition hall and all the fatigue feel completely worthwhile.
