For this Halloween-themed shoot, every aspect from costume styling to scene detailing was meticulously prepared. The top features a form-fitting black corset silhouette paired with a multi-layered, voluminous black skirt, draped beneath a long flowing purple cape that billowed beautifully in motion, endowing the styling with rich textural depth. To enhance the character's enigmatic and dark gothic allure, black lace chokers and arm wraps were added, with the crimson ribbon ties around the wrists serving as an eye-catching accent. The headpiece was a wide-brimmed black witch hat accented with metal rings and skull ornaments, which, matched with a dark violet-black blunt-bang bob wig, gave the characterization solid fidelity.
Regarding props, a purple-and-white spiral wand and carved orange jack-o'-lanterns of varied sizes anchored the scene as vital visual centerpieces. The studio set was curated with utmost care: a vintage crimson leather couch, textured brocade wallpaper, and bookshelves laden with grimoires, complemented by white skeletal remains and sprawling cobwebs throughout, as well as gilded picture frames and candelabras in the corners to maximize the gothic mood. To echo the vibe of Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, the photographer guided me through numerous playful, spellcasting stances—such as perching on one foot, crouching, sitting along the sofa's edge lifting a jack-o'-lantern, or striking magical hand seals with one hand resting on the hip. To make the poses feel even more dynamic, I frequently reached up to adjust the brim of my witch hat, small natural movements that lent genuine authenticity to the frames.
For the makeup, blue contact lenses looked strikingly luminous under the studio strobes, harmonizing with dark, smudged eye makeup and a clean, porcelain foundation to channel that quirky, mischievous persona. The photographer dedicated immense effort to the lighting scheme, employing purple-red background fill alongside warm yellow key lights to cleanly separate the subject from the backdrop. Because the outfit was paired with white tights dotted with yellow stars and black block-heeled Mary Janes, the photographer deliberately arranged multiple compositions to accentuate the leg lines. Throughout the session, I found that simply relaxing the body and interacting organically with the props consistently captured the most compelling visual tension. The intricately patterned studio carpet echoed the red walls and gilded frames gorgeously, yielding varied cinematic atmospheres across different angles.
