Hsin cosplay in Wuthering Waves: White-gold beast ears and White stockings second form record - Image 1

This time at the CICF Wuthering Waves booth, I presented Hsin's second form. The overall styling combined a white-gold palette with oversized plush beast ears and tail, delivering exceptional tactile texture under the booth's ambient light and tailored stage lighting. Preparing for this Hsin cosplay, I began fine-tuning details long in advance—from locking the wig's silhouette to distressing the costume's metallic hardware—striving to capture that noble, faintly bewitching aura of the original concept art.

The costume features rich structural layers: the upper body utilizes a bandeau cut bordered with golden trim and dark ribbon bows, accented by a crimson gemstone at the bodice. The sleeves are tailored from billowy, lightweight chiffon, whose blue-purple gradient revealed a delicate translucency under direct lighting. The lower half paired pristine White stockings with gold-strapped high heels, visually elongating my silhouette. Because the tail was enormous and fluffy, seated postures required deliberate care to avoid flattening its volume while keeping my torso gracefully extended; finding a natural leg-cross angle took several attempts.

The booth environment was bustling and noisy, featuring a giant plush sculpture backdrop alongside lotus ponds and lush greenery. To blur the intricate setting while keeping the luminous ambient lighting intact, the photographer used a wide aperture. Since the venue lighting was rather chaotic, gentle facial fill lights were introduced to illuminate the face without harsh specular glare. For expression control, because Hsin naturally carries an aura of mystery and cool detachment, I maintained a direct, piercing gaze into the camera, paired with a hand lightly grazing my cheek to evoke a languid, sultry atmosphere. Crimson eyeshadow shading and a red forehead sigil further elevated the close-up portraits.

The fundamental difference between outdoor shoots and convention booths is the need to lock into character instantly amid dense crowds, holding postures firmly while syncing with the photographer's burst captures. The oversized beast ears carried noticeable weight on my head, requiring numerous bobby pins to keep them anchored against slipping while moving. While high heels look stunning, maintaining crossed-leg seated postures continuously put my core strength to the test. Seeing the final results, however, made every ounce of effort completely worthwhile.

In post-processing, I avoided heavy skin smoothing to preserve genuine, tangible skin textures, adding just a touch of luminous particles to enhance that mystical fantasy ambiance. The white-gold contrast of the garments remained crisp, and shadow details were cleanly retained. Under the lights, the White stockings cast a gentle sheen that contrasted beautifully against the metallic finish of the heels.

After cosplaying for so long, I've always believed that tailoring precision and prop quality establish a shoot's baseline, while character presence and atmospheric lighting define its peak. This Hsin attempt still leaves room for kinetic refinement, such as testing more dynamic action snaps next time to emphasize the fox's agile nature. The tail prop also has room for upgrade; next time I plan to add internal skeletal supports to make it even more dimensional. All in all, this CICF journey to the Wuthering Waves booth granted me a far deeper connection with Hsin's form, and I look forward to exploring more diverse styles ahead.
