This time, I tried the apprentice Magical Girl look of Phoebe from Wuthering Waves. Her iconic large white brimmed hat and long golden curly hair were the main focus of this recreation. The curvature of the hat's brim was adjusted repeatedly, paired with a black turtleneck inner layer and a blue-and-gold robe, giving the overall color scheme a refreshing and slightly academic style. These black leather gloves and white high boots on my hands add a neat touch of a battle mage to the details.
As for the props, I prepared the magic book "A Beginner's Guide to Incantations and Curses" and a staff. Both the wooden texture and the metal head of the staff underwent a weathering treatment, serving as a great prop while assisting in casting or reading poses during the shoot. The shooting scene was chosen with a solid-colored background paired with a white circular platform, along with a plush rug and soft light simulating a sea breeze, echoing the setting of a "gentle sea breeze."
During the shoot, the focus was on capturing moments of holding the book in deep thought, gripping the staff while looking into the distance, and lifting the hat with a smile, with my gaze trying its best to match the character's curiosity and certainty upon entering the world for the first time. The cut of this costume emphasizes dynamic fluidity, especially the lines of the skirt hem and cape draping when sitting down, perfectly revealing the lace edges and strap details on the legs. To embody the translucent texture of Cosplay photography, the post-processing preserved the natural clarity of the skin tone without over-smoothing, leaving the fabric texture and reflections of the metal pieces clearly visible. From the wig styling to the prop coordination, the preparation took two weeks. The atmosphere on the shooting day was very relaxed, making it feel as if I were truly a Moe anime girl flipping through a magic book while being blown by the breeze at sea.
