For this Honoka Kosaka birthday cosplay shoot, I started preparing this Love Live! stage-style cosplay performance outfit half a month in advance. From garment pattern making to detailed accessories, every single part strives to restore Honoka's vitality and energy on stage.

The layering of this outfit is extremely strong. The upper body is a pink-and-white checkered shirt with delicate ruffles along the edges, paired with a large bow in mixed pink, yellow, and light blue on the chest, plus golden piping and buttons, maximizing the texture. The light blue star sash on the body and the round badge on the chest are also the finishing touches. The skirt hem of the lower body is pieced together from a blue base with white polka dots and pink-and-white plaid, overlaid with white lace, making the skirt hem look very light when walking. The straps with the letters LOVE and LIVE on the waistband instantly remind people of the shining moments on stage.

The workload for the head styling was quite heavy. The bright orange wig was trimmed to shoulder-length layers and bangs, and quite a bit of styling product was used to maintain the curve. The pink heart-shaped hair accessory and giant bow on top of the head, along with the white accessory on the left, required several hairpins to secure firmly when worn. The pearlescent pink bow on the face was also glued on piece by piece by hand. To match the stage environment, bright colored contact lenses were chosen for the eye makeup, and the blush was applied heavier than usual to ensure an energetic state under strong light.

This shoot chose a scene with a colorful reflective mosaic wall, and multi-color lighting was arranged on site. To give the frame a live concert feel, I kept holding a microphone and looking for poses during the shooting process. The first and fourth photos are mainly close-ups and interactivity, the second tried a slightly dynamic pose, and the third full-body photo is my favorite. To capture a nice jumping feel, the pink lace-up high heels were chosen, paired with purple tight over-the-knee stockings, which feature pink cross-straps and bows on them. The action of lifting one leg looks easy, but it actually requires strong core strength to stabilize the body, while also balancing the unfolding of the skirt hem and the expression of leg lines.

Honoka Kosaka is the character I have supported the longest, period. From encountering the project until now, her straightforwardness, passion, and stubborn drive to never give up have given me strength in many moments. Taking birthday cosplay photos for her every year feels like a promise. Although posing under strong light carrying costumes and props is exhausting, and the wig needs to be styled repeatedly, the moment I press the shutter and see her standing in front of that radiant background, I feel that all the early hardships were completely worth it. This stage theme is also meant to present her most confident and sparkling side on stage.
