[Ichinose Asuna cosplay] Blue Archive: Gorgeous Qipao and White stockings

Reshooting this Ichinose Asuna cosplay in her Qipao cosplay version from Blue Archive brought back feelings both familiar and new. What felt familiar was years of shooting experience; what felt new was handling these hefty props again after a long hiatus. Back in the studio, I carefully inspected the halter-neck design of the blue satin qipao, with its intricate silver floral embroidery adorning the neckline cutout. Draping a white plush shawl over the shoulders created a contrast of warm and cool tones that truly enhanced complexion vitality. On the bottom half, I opted for white shorts paired with white pantyhose—our beloved White stockings. In 2D anime styling, this classic combination is often favored to accentuate leg lines; paired during shooting with slightly low upward angles, it dramatically elongated leg proportions.

Regarding prop arrangements, this time I prepared a wooden pipa (lute), a round folding fan, a carved Chinese wooden chair, and an elongated wooden daybed. The daybed was draped with a fluffy white plush rug, enriching the visual layering between background and props. That wooden pipa was actually much heavier than it appeared; holding it required careful regulation of arm tension to prevent trembling. The tassels and embroidery on the round fan also boasted exquisite texture, looking remarkably photogenic whether used for coy concealment or poise extension.

Pose Analysis and Choreography: The first set of movements was set on the wooden daybed, where I tried reclining backward with hands clasped behind my head. The merit of this posture lies in flawlessly accentuating leg lines clad in White stockings—especially the fullness of the thighs—which, combined with the cutout qipao bodice, sculpted an elongated, curvaceous silhouette. Lying on the plush blanket with toes pointed gently downward, the resulting shots captured that desired cool, sensual aesthetic. The second set was on the wooden chair; this seated posture demanded careful arrangement of the slit skirt, crossing one leg over the other to display the unique fusion of classical attire and modern allure, testing core and lumbar support to the limit. The third set featured holding the pipa, ensuring the instrument body didn't obstruct the torso while projecting confident, composed poise through my gaze—taking dozens of candid shutter bursts to select the perfect frame.

Crafting Light and Shadow Atmosphere: For this studio session, we utilized a cool-toned blue palette for ambient lighting. The backdrop seamless was pure blue, casting a clean, premium aesthetic under the studio strobes. In post-processing, I deliberately adjusted blue saturation to ensure color harmony across the garment. Skin retouching maintained authentic fidelity, preserving clear skin texture while accentuating the specular highlights on the White stockings to give them an alluring sheen. When refining leg contours, beyond subtle liquify adjustments, I applied High Pass sharpening to ensure the stockings looked breathable, natural, and never artificially chalky.

Shoot Takeaways: Although the studio shoot was physically exhausting and the outfit wasn't particularly breathable, it fully captured Asuna's enchanting temperament. More importantly, this set proved that a blue qipao paired with White stockings is not only exceptionally elegant, but also exerts an irresistible allure, while the clean blue-and-white palette feels wonderfully pure. I hope this high-quality recreation resonates with players who love this style in Blue Archive.
